It’s been years, but despite multiple requests, a simple request to send a notification if the solar system has stopped producing power during daylight hours has not been implemented.
The app developer is unresponsive to requests for basic improvements.
Crashes Daily
I have wasted soooo much time trying to get this app to work. Very frustrating, and disappointing. It crashes nearly every day. Then I have to reconnect. Once “connected”, nothing happens. Then I come back later to find it is offline again. Neat when it is working to see how much energy you use and by specific items. Unfortunately not worth the time spent trying to connect.
Impressive at Start
This is the 5th year review. Started off good found 70% of my electrical items. But has not advanced. I was always told maybe is older appliances and they do not have the algorithms. But I have a mix of old and new and results are still mixed. They use to let us have more control and help tell what items were on at the time but then they took that away and it gotten worse. You can use this to see real time energy use but horrible trying to find energy use of individual items.
Dashboard Usage
I like the new dashboard usage comparing last month to this month, but not at the expense of losing the trending toward amount and kW metric instead of cost! Just put the kW back and the predicted endpoint value, more is better - you OVER simplified!!!
Push notifications busted, but billing calculator is back
Badge numbers on the icon seem useless, but the device list has improved.
Thank you for bringing back billing calculator. It would be better to have it on the dashboard page instead of kWh.
App doesn’t login
The app doesn’t even login , on new account creation
Used to work not so much anymore
3 years worked great, some issues minor but I was happy. Not anymore about a month ago it stopped connecting to my network sporadically. I have done everything, suggested. Tech support is useless. Top suggestion is to continually turn off and on and try to reconnect to wifi. Always connects to my router, gets and IP, than states it cannot talk to the Sense servers. Reboot multiple time and all of the sudden it works. Don't bother with this thing, shiny interfaces does not matter when it does not work. I have an Emporia unit that monitors a subpanel on the same Wifi never fails.
Tried to factory reset as last resort, could not even do that because it wont connect to the Sense servers.
Devise does not detect major appliance’s, overall very limited and crashes constantly
I had the sense device installed almost a year ago and so far it’s “detection” concept identified my garbage disposal and nothing else. It has not picked up any other major appliances through out my home.
The app overall is unusable. The recent update (July 2024) has it crashing when I try to move to the dashboard screen (redownloading did not resolve this), however prior to this it failed to estimate my correct energy usage showing a comparison watt usage number on the screen in the 100 million so does not give me a clear reading of what range my bill is going to actually be.
Disappointed, would not recommend.
Rate plans
Wish Sense devs could make some proper improvements to the rates section. Would really like to get a more accurate picture of what my bill will look like.
Temperamental
When it works it's great but it keeps crashing. 3 weeks ago it went off line for no apparent reason. I wrote in for help. Then 2 days later it came back on. It just went offline AGAIN and I have been unable to get it working again. PLEASE make a better and more reliable app! Thanks!
