Closing the program or the iPhone will prevent the alarm from waking you up. Please also make sure your ringer volume is loud enough to wake you up. Make sure to plug in your device to prevent battery drain from not waking you up. Test BEFORE Shabbos to confirm your setup works. It’s excellent. Yes , the phone must be plugged in but so what? Nothing has ever happened to my I phone because it’s plugged in. Not for a day, two or three days. Here is the issue: if the alarm is not plugged in, all that happens is that it beeps softly once, and the screen lights up with a notification. For the alarm to work, the phone must be plugged in. Leaving an iPhone plugged in overnight will wear the battery down and reduce the life of the phone. Google this if you are not sure. To use the alarm for shabbos, the iPhone has to be plugged in for at least 25 hours, for two days Yom tov 50 hours and three days Yom tov 75 hours straight? Do you want to ruin your iPhone this way?
