With the Sharp Air Mobile Companion App, you can take advantage of the Smart Features of your Wi-Fi enabled,  Air Purifier and/or Air Conditioner by Sharp:

• Control several features of your compatible air purifier and/or air conditioner with your mobile device from anywhere you have a data connection.  You can power your air purifier and/or air conditioner on or off, set a weekly schedule, and more!

• Monitor electric consumption and feel the energy saved with Air Conditioner.

• Monitor indoor air quality in real-time to stay in control, even if you're not home.

• See your remaining filter-life and receive alerts when it's time to replace the filters. 

• Enable the Auto Presence ON/OFF feature which will automatically turn your air purifier and air conditioner ON or OFF depending on your current location.

• You can enable and disable the optional, "Sharp Cloud" feature. When enabled, your usage history will be used to adjust the Sensor Sensitivity settings of "Auto" Mode over time in order to optimize your Air Purifier's performance.  A free, Sharp Cloud account is required for setup.

- Please verify that your appliance is working properly before using the remote control features away from home.
- Please check the operation mode on your application after using a remote control function from outside of your home.

Connexion with wifi away in another’s place than home works, but I was expecting to be able to connect anytime with data only. When attempting to connect with data, the sharp.USA page cannot load: why is that? After that, reconnecting with wifi can even fail. I was expecting to have better remote control than that.
Update: the pairing of the heat pump with the app seems to create conflicts or malfunctions. The interior device is trying to reconnect with our home router since more than one hour, and it seems that the heat pump is now more in line with what we have set on the remote. I am now strongly thinking of uninstalling the app and disconnect entirely from the router.
