### ****- "A glorified web browser"
The first thing that needs to be mentioned is that this app will NOT let you launch native apps. No photo/video editing apps, no messages, etc.. You can only use things you can go to on a website. That being said, what it can do it does really well. It’s in this awkward spot of doing the best they can do with Apple’s limitations, but it’s still not good enough (for me).

I wanted to use this app for multitasking while plugged into a monitor and I was annoyed when this app wouldn’t let me open Word. The app shows Word as one of the supported apps but it is grayed out. Also I was highly disappointed that you couldn’t use any app that you have downloaded. Better off just using the an iPad via HDMI with the regular resolution then this app. Cool concept but not quite there yet. Maybe this app will be better in the future but right now at $8 it is not worth it at all.

I think that some who have reviewed this app have been overly critical. It works well within its intended parameters and can be quite useful if used as intended. 
I work with Chromebooks quite a bit, and Shiftscreen works in much the same way. It allows one to have multiple browser windows open and running web apps. The browser windows can be resized and moved around the screen, and can be arranged in any way desired.
I have a iPad Mini 5 and an iPad Air2. Both run ShiftScreen well. Neither has direct monitor support, so I use Airplay and a Roku. I have used several Roku devices and several TV sets and monitors, and all have worked. I also use a bluetooth mouse and keyboard to complete my set up,  and everything plays well together. 
I have experienced a few glitches. I have learned to close any apps running on my iPad that don't need to be open, as it is easy to overload my relatively old iPads. Windows can only be resized from the right hand top corner of the window, which can be a bit awkward.  When I use ShiftScreen without a monitor, just on the iPad screen,  one is reminded that even the screen on the Air is awfully small! I 
have learned that ShiftScreen  works best if the iPad is not in split screen mode and it is the only app running, although that is mostly a matter of my mouse maneuvering skills, and it might not be an issue for anyone else.
Maybe I am just lucky, but I personally have found ShiftScreen to be a very useful and usable app. If one already has an iPad, a monitor, and a Roku or similar device (and ideally a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse), and if you want to have multiple web apps running in multiple windows, ScreenShift is well worth its minimal price tag.

I got this app yesterday and basically couldn’t sleep thinking about how great this app was I almost got a iPad Pro for the full screen feature but I kept my iPad Air 4th generation and it worked full screen and great. Great work with the app.

The APP seems to be working out for iPad with an external monitor, but the launchpad on my external monitor doesn’t respond at all; second there is no Microsoft APPS in the Webapp on my shift-screen. No support at all although I sent few of inquiries.

Like many folks I’m trying to use my iPad more but really missed the second screen I have attached to my desktop.  I was puzzled by the bipolar reviews about this app, so read through the instructions first and watched a couple of YouTube videos about it.  Bottom line to explain the love or hate relationship: you need to take a few minutes before you buy with false expectations to see if this app will suit your needs.  If you want a browser on that second window as I did, it will do the job.  Sure, it’s not the same as a second screen on Mac OS, but an incredibly innovative and reasonably priced product that really extends what one can do with an iPad.  For my needs this app is great and works well with my 2022 IPad Air, ios 15.6.

This app is not at all what I wanted. I was trying to get rid of apples stupid black bars on the screen of my external display.  It’s 2022 and we still have to put up with this!
This app is expensive and uses this weird web browser that nobody will want.  I rarely write super negative reviews but this app deserves it.

so yes this app expands and gets rid of the black sidebars but it really is almost completely unusable.  The catch is that you have to open this app and keep it opened in order to use the full screen.  The other problem is that you can only use the full screen expanded with the apps that are included in the app itself ONLY!   Very Very Basic apps.   So all other apps you have on your ipad will not work with this app therefore rendering this app almost useless.   Also, I wish I knew ios16 fixed this problem already in their beta so I just paid $8 for nothing at all.  Not the developers fault.   I’m not gonna even ask for a refund bc I hope my contribution helps the developer update this app bc it is just really sad the stage that it’s left at.
