## Shinkansen smartEX App Reviews in United States

### *---- "Useless"
If you are a foreigner, don’t bother downloading this app. It won’t work with any credit card or debit from the US. You won’t make it past the account sign up. (I did’t read the app reviews, so I wasted 30 minutes trying out a bunch of credit cards. Hopefully this review can save you some trouble.)
-- G Boquet, 2025-01-02

### *---- "Awful and useless."
Could not even sign up. Every time I enter a valid credit card (and I enwteeed several) it just craps out and goes back. Never went past.
-- DavidinSF, 2024-12-29

### *---- "Can’t use"
Another person who can’t use since it won’t register my US Visa cards. Absolutely ridiculous…
-- Ikedude, 2024-12-29

### *---- "Require waiting time to log in an app?!"
Every time when I log in, it shows 4~7 minutes waiting time? Is it a restaurant?! Why anyone needs to wait for using an app?! What if anyone needs their ticket for boarding immediately? Such a ridiculous and low efficient app.
-- Eli0716, 2024-12-28

### *---- "Better to not have this app"
Horrible ui and not usable. Better to take this down than waste everyone time
-- Sysysyysysysusuus, 2024-12-28

### *---- "Well, I tried"
I never even got to use the app because I get “Operation Failure” when I tried to sign up or recover my account or password. They can’t even get this basic stuff programmed correctly.
-- phamster2000, 2024-12-25

### *---- "Be careful when you buy tickets for your family"
It was not clear how to issue your tickets. I needed to ask JR staff. You need to go to account profile menu and issue QR code with one time password by email. Email does not come immediately , you need to be stuck in front of the vending machine. In average, it took me 3 min to issue tickets each time in my trip. If your schedule is fixed and you are confident to keep tickets, I would recommend to issue all tickets for entire trip.

-- xQuicKSilv3rGX, 2024-12-25

### *---- "Worthless"
Garbage user interface and does not take your credit card and makes you restart entire process. What a horrible first impression to the supposed “world class” bullet train.
-- RhinoEO22, 2024-12-13

### *---- "This app actually is useless"
App doesn’t work. Won’t even pass the registration. Follows some old Japanese format.
