I understand the idea (lowering foodwaste) behind the concept but I find it useless for me as I might be little bit picky. I think there is a lot of people like me. Also be prepared to eat similair style cuisine/ ingredients for a whole week. I love variety. Let me sum it up: - I would prefer cookbook/ more free recipes integrated in the app for members. To have variety during the week, get useful ideas for cooking etc. I don't want to be eating mexican dishes for whole week. I just checked the recipes I was able to open and like 3/5 contained harrisa. - I would be grateful for "starting questionnaire" to eliminate allergens I can not include in my diet, or foods I don't eat (eg fish for me - I "purchased" a pack and 2/3 meals contained fish :D Somebody is going to be eating one meal for a whole week or be lacking proteins) - Weekly questionnaire "what are you carving for" would be great - I would love to have a peek on recepies/meals in the packs before choosing the one I will spend my credit on. - The weekly shopping list should be built in the app. I don't like the option that only copies it straight to my clipboard. Virtual shopping list would be great - one that I can update on the go, re-check it. I go to the farmers market for vegetables, butchers for meat, and some ingredients would require going to speciality oriented shops. I want to check mark on the go. I was looking for inspiration to cook during the week, I found one style oriented restaurant I don't like but I have to dine in.
We love sidekick. It’s saved us money due to lack of waste (ingenious recipe design), expanded our horizons in terms of ingredients and variety, and it’s fun. Me and my other half both have it on our phones, there is a shared subscription which meal plans, shopping lists etc. are shared. And the end results are terrific - we’ve cooked 245 recipes and 24 packs (apparently) and can count the number we didn’t like/wouldn’t repeat on one hand. Thank you to all the team at Sorted.
Really loving the app so far. Of the 7 recipes I’ve cooked all 7 I’d cook again (with some minor variance) Love the step by step guidance and for those of us that are fans can feel like we are part of the sorted kitchen which is nice. The search functionality is okay but could be a bit better and an improvement here would likely make this a 5 star app, the ability to search by more exclude more etc . I’d also love to be able to group recipes by ingredients meaning- if I’ve got a recipe that’s using beef mince I can see recipes that use the same ingredients to insure less food waste. Overall a really good app with a yearly subscription that is a bit to high for me to comfortably recommend to friends and family with out a sale. Here’s hoping for another Black Friday sale on the subscription next year
I like how much variety there is in recipes and look forward to making my first dish, however from my first use I can already tell there is an issue with filtering options. While the app is great at recognising food intolerances or preferences etc, it seems impossible to search for dishes by equipment. Many of the dishes I’m being suggested or seeing require stoves or ovens, which I don’t have, but I don’t see information on how to adjust the recipe for different equipment (eg an airfryer or slow cooker ), nor can I filter the search engine or Home Screen by equipment. As such, it’s very hard to find dishes that I will be able to make without having to guess how to do it, which was what I was trying to avoid in the first place. I think fixing this gap could be a very easy and useful update to the app and I really hope they implement it.
It’s a incredibly well designed app but I sadly had to unsubscribe and delete as they don’t include any calories in the dishes. I have to carefully track calories and fat content in my food and having to do it myself for each dish is really time consuming and frustrating when it ends up being too high for me to eat. Hope there’s an option for this soon and I’ll be back!
I’ve never really been interested in cooking and have always been too busy to care about what I eat. When I retired I decided that I would make the effort to learn a new skill. I came across Sorted Food on YouTube and started using the app in January. I can honestly say it’s been a revelation. I love the No-Waste recipe packs, the shopping lists and the verbal instructions that clearly tell me what to do and why I’m doing it. I now tell all my friends, and share photos, my delicious mid-week meals even though I can’t always remember what they were called. Thank you Sorted Food
It’s a good app, the recipes are well thought and organised. However there are two issues it can really improve on: i. The portions are disproportionate, some that say for 2 people makes food for 4; ii. It would be perfect it they could add calories to the recipes.
😎😎😎
Has completely removed the stress from meal planning and from planning a shopping list. Excellent recipes, and really nice to explore some ingredients I’m not that confident in. Great to be able to search via ingredient if you end up with too much of one item.
