Sidekick by Sorted Food Reviews
Nice, easy, tasty
What do I love about this app?
Easy cooking without having to have a kitchen full of ingredients I will never use again.
It uses up all or most of the standard supermarket sized packaging. (Of course this can deviate depending on where you are in the world). Especially when cooking a meal pack of 3 dishes.
Very little washing up, you use 1 or 2 pans, something to cut with and maybe a bowl and something you eat with and out off.
All the community hacks, I love the input from the community and the way it is welcomed by the app.
So what don’t I like about the app?
I’d love the option to add my own dishes in the menu. That way I could do all my meal planning in one app and there would be no need for a different menu(usually on paper).
Good food
Helps being more creative with cooking and using up the ingredients. Before you choose a meal pack, check if all ingredients are available to you. We don’t live in the uk and lamb meat or tinned crab are sparse around here.
That’s not a big problem, just be aware.
Cooking takes us a bit longer than predicted by the app.
Overall very happy with the app, we prolonged our subscription after a year
Nice, but almost too British
Very nice
Makes cooking easier and helps you create dishes that taste way more interesting than standard meals
Amazing app to help with (mid)week cooking
So many wonderful and tasty recipes with loads of variety. The app is easy to use, looks great and overall works very well. And the latest update is the best version yet.
Great way to get food waste down
Fantastic app, works very well and does what it promises!
I love the recipes, but the app could use some tweaks
So first of all, I would recommend this app to everyone, but that does not mean that it is perfect. My biggest frustration is around the menu picking experience. You need to a meal based on 3 images the size of a post stamp. Why?! You have the larger images, but block the user from viewing them until they actually picked the pack.
You improved the overview page, but again made the image smaller. Just allow me too have a good look at what I’m picking. Even if I would have to press the picture to make it bigger
Meals are great, app is absolute garbage
Love the meals and love you guys on YouTube, gave this app a try and have to say that the meals are awesome! However, the app is utterly confusing. It is not clear to me where the hell I even can click to interact, and whenever I do click on an option that does open a new page it is 99% of the time not at all a page I would expect. Overall I find that the app lacks a clear menu structure (might be that I’m getting old though and no longer understand app design).
Also, the shopping list function is very poor. It just copies the list which I then need to paste to another app? Why is that not integrated?
For now I have cancelled my subscription, if the app gets an overhaul I will definitely reconsider.
Great formula!
Been using it for a couple of months now and the recipes are awesome. And fun to do! So far every pack I chose had had one or more new ingredients to me, so I’ve become a foodie explorer as well!
Nice concept, bad app
I enjoy the concept but the app doesn’t work most of the time as it doesn’t update the new packs or they appear and disappear in the same day. :(
I do not mind paying for it (as others are expecting everything for free) but I do consider giving up on the membership as Sorted Packs is the reason I joined.
