I really enjoy this! I love the automatic timers and the fact that the amount of each ingredient is repeated in each step. I seem to be a bit slower than most of the recipes suggest it should take. The ability to add more than one timer in app would be great, since different steps often need different timers and I need to go out of the app to do that.
This truly takes the nightmare of what to cook every flipping night away, plus totally saves on your food bill by cutting out waste! Equally, if you want to go by the recipe as opposed to the pack, you can. Great advice all around!
I love to cook but with a busy lifestyle I don’t always have time. The sidekick app allows me to easily pre-plan and the handy shopping list makes sure that when I want to start cooking I have everything. Easy recipes with great flavor 👌
I’m enjoying the app free trial. Because the idea is no waste, the meals in the pack are similar- eg all 3 recipes might be pork. This can get a bit monotonous so I recommend choosing two completely different styles of packs for the week and alternating which pack you cook from each night for variety. The meal pack choices page is initially confusing to navigate, it appears there are very limited plans until you click on ‘Need more help finding a meal pack’?, that brings up all the options. Note that even if you only schedule 2 of the 3 meals in the plan into your week, the shopping list contains ingredients for the whole pack, despite you not scheduling all 3 meals. Other than that, the shopping list functionality is useful. You can strike off items you already have and then click a button to copy remaining items to add to your regular shopping list. Recipes are well described and simple. I like following the narrations rather than reading. It sets timers for you if a step is time related , eg boil for 10 minutes. I find many of the recipe packs are Asian inspired and so many of the meals contain coriander , so you might have to substitute if you are not a coriander fan. Another nice feature is typing in what ingredient/s you have in your fridge and it sends you recipe ideas to use them up. I am seriously considering buying the app.
Recipes are easy to follow, the Shopping List works out fairly cheap, and the meals are very tasty, even my kids love it.
Every time I try to open the up it initiates an update that fails after a couple of seconds. I am unable to use the app.
I love this app. The recipes are fantastic and it’s great to have the stress of meal planning handled by someone else. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys cooking and convenience.
We love sidekick. It’s saved us money due to lack of waste (ingenious recipe design), expanded our horizons in terms of ingredients and variety, and it’s fun. Me and my other half both have it on our phones, there is a shared subscription which meal plans, shopping lists etc. are shared. And the end results are terrific - we’ve cooked 245 recipes and 24 packs (apparently) and can count the number we didn’t like/wouldn’t repeat on one hand. Thank you to all the team at Sorted.
Really loving the app so far. Of the 7 recipes I’ve cooked all 7 I’d cook again (with some minor variance) Love the step by step guidance and for those of us that are fans can feel like we are part of the sorted kitchen which is nice. The search functionality is okay but could be a bit better and an improvement here would likely make this a 5 star app, the ability to search by more exclude more etc . I’d also love to be able to group recipes by ingredients meaning- if I’ve got a recipe that’s using beef mince I can see recipes that use the same ingredients to insure less food waste. Overall a really good app with a yearly subscription that is a bit to high for me to comfortably recommend to friends and family with out a sale. Here’s hoping for another Black Friday sale on the subscription next year
