The app it’s great but
The app is very good and i use it every day at school. PLEASE, Please,
1) add ABSOLUTELY the possibily to set the “dark theme” or the “standard white theme” in the Settings. Because when i export a map in .PNG , the background is always black (because i’ve the dark theme in the iPad). I want the possibility to set a white background (white theme or day theme) on my maps, so i can print maps in white paper
2) add a button or a fuction to auto set messed up nodes …. When i try to manually order 15-20 notes in a map it’s a nightmare.

Detailed review of pro and con
PRO
-Possibility of creating specific links between topics of mind maps in different files. This is an essential point that makes the application potentially useful for creating a network of digital knowledge, a bit like obsidian, but in a still more smart way because mind maps is like our brain work.
CONS
-The mind maps do not maintain zoom and coordinates when switching from one map to another, or they seem not to do so all time.
This is a BASIC feature, I can’t believe it hasn’t been implemented yet.
It may be necessary to make comparisons between multiple mind maps but to do so it’s necessary that the application remembers the coordinates and zoom, even if different between multiple maps.
- If you move a map created on desktop version like Windows to the iPad (iOS) version, it is no longer possible to open the hyperlinks between topics created internally to the file, this is simply UNACCEPTABLE … it implies a lack of support on multiple platforms that leaves me stunned.
- If you duplicate a map on the mobile version and follow the links on duplicated file, they will take you back to the first file and not to the duplicated one.
This is a limitation that does not allow us to create prototypes and canvas with hyperlinks that can be duplicated and reused later, as it is possible in xmind. This is another important limitation in terms of productivity.
You could theorically use the Windows version to create these prototypes, but then the links would not work on mobile because “links created on remote are not supported”…(as mentioned above and for internal hyperlinks this is not acceptable ).
CONCLUSION
All these limitation are make me sad because Simple Mind has the potential to have 5 stars and be the best app for mind mapping and build a system of personal knowledge, but after seeing all these limitations and especially that after 10 years the developers have not fixed them yet, I’m doubtful about its future… It would be nice if the developers gave reassurances about this, if they are working to resolve this issue or not.. if these things change I will modify my judgment on this review.
Cosa mi manca
Prima di tutto il rapporto costo prestazioni e’ ottimo e per gli attuali miei usi amatoriali va bene, lo uso sia su iPad che Windows. La cosa che per i miei usi è fondamentale è il link a file, che su iOS è impedita per ragioni di sicurezza(?) e su Windows è limitata ad un solo file, mentre per me avere il link anche ad una cartella e’ fondamentale. Non è possibile nemmeno avere più link da un nodo… almeno io non ci son riuscito.

Organizzare piani e progetti
Decisamente migliorabile anche se molto utile per pianificare al meglio i propri progetti e raccogliere idee
Eccezionale !
Un app in grado di schematizzare qualsiasi cosa! Fondamentale per avere un quadro generale di ciò che si vuole studiare e di ciò che si sta studiando. Facile ed intuitivo! Funzionalità brain-storming indispensabile per chi ha idee sparse qua e là e necessita di metterle da qualche parte per poi lavorarci sopra in un secondo momento. Inserimento immagini, icone, links che rendono la mappa molto personalizzata. Ottima per ideazione bozze progetti, prototipi, diari, agende, pseudo-app. Feature con apple pencil per fare disegni, genialata! :D
