The app is really nice, smooth, clean and has a nice vibe overall. The video lessons are well thought out and gets the lesson across from an artists perspective. However, a distasteful ad featuring AI generated cats sickened me and made me want to check the app out. This ad and the app were complete opposites. This ad had barely a quality, the narrative was idiotic and barbaric and the use of AI generated video contradicts the whole point of the app. This add features soulless cats and monstrous punchable creatures. I despise how the main lead sulks about how he can’t be a better artist by just no more than a pencil and paper. Imagine being so worthless and not amounting to anything in life you try to impress your superiors with drawing, thinking it would be an easy skill to learn while probably not actually keeping it up in the future. It’s actually offensive to artists. It just shows how little the marketing team knows about art. Just call yourself a better drawer, not a better artist. Art is much more than that. Art can be visually through other forms, literature and sculpture and auditory in vocals and musical instruments, not just drawing with graphite. When you draw you pour your human creativity into the page. This ad advocates for the exact opposite. The AI generated video and voices took absolutely no effort, where art takes effort, dedication and creativity. The people behind it are sick money hungry corporate scum who don’t get the point of the app. Here’s a better idea. Animate a storyboard. Maybe with less intellectually disabled language and intellectually disabled story. A story that gets the point across while also being thoughtful and creative. Then to add more fuel to the fire, the app is paid and charges insane amounts. Just more and more corporate scum trying to take advantage of kids just wanting to get better at drawing.

I really hate this app!

I thought this app was great first, but after drawing an acorn I tried moving on to the next lesson. And it wasn't letting me go on. And a monthly subscription for €17.99 popped up and pressed the X button at the top right corner, and tried to go on something else. But it turns out you need to sign up for a free trial or a monthly subscription! I'm not spending my money on some shart app! This made me so upset and angry I gave up doing art. Don’t waste your money!

When I finished drawing a cute, sweet, adorable acorn, I went on the Summary step, and it said "Spend €17.99 a month to draw like you want!". No, Simply Draw, NO! I'm not spending that on a stupid premium so I can keep going! What has happened to this world?!
