## Simply Filter SMS Reviews in United States

### ***** "Wonderful app!"
This does exactly what I was looking for and is so easy to set up! I appreciate that everything is done on device.
-- stormblessed137, 2026-04-16

### **--- "Used to work great"
Used to work great but recently it’s been letting texts through that I have filtered. Specifically blocked texts and blocked languages.
-- Richenzo, 2026-04-05

### ***** "Doesn’t disappoint"
Can’t complain works like a charm and it’s free, absolute banger of an app.
-- ooqua, 2026-03-17

### ***** "great"
free and amazing
-- jmoney6767, 2026-01-16

### ***** "Works great"
The filter app works great for common cases like filtering a message containing a link. Kudos for open sourcing the code.

### *---- "PERSONAL & BANK INFO AT RISK! DO NOT DOWNLOAD!!!"
Huge cyber safety risk here. New developer and this is their only app. Also developer is outside of US and a google search shows from Israel with minimum info/history.

I downloaded this app and was about to allow access but it states that “The developer of "SimplyFilterSMS" will receive the text, attachments, and sender information in text messages from senders not in your Contacts.
Messages may include personal or sensitive information like bank verification codes.”

On the app download page it shows data not collected which I find the developer purposely did to be misleading because if you read about those terms the developer doesn’t have to mark that they do if user gives access in the way they have the app setup

Please don’t download this app! And if you have delete immediately!

The developer dan get every message you get from unknown numbers. Think of how many times a bank or other app sends y a text code for safety. They can easily get that since your email is also used given to them when downloaded app.
Basically you risk giving up access to every account online that you have to someone out of the county.

### ***** "The best SMS message filtering app to use with iOS 26"
I have happily been using simply filter SMS for several years. It has an incredible amount of configurability for blocking or allowing text messages.

However, I wanted to write a new review because with iOS 26 filtering simply filter sms becomes much more powerful. That's because Apple now allows you to select whether or not you want to be notified if a SMS message is sent to the "transactions" or "promotions" folders.

You could let iOS try to figure it out how to route an incoming message, but I've already had one message that was not a transaction end up in the transaction folder.

With simply filter SMS, you have a lot more control over where you want to route messages and how you get notified about them.

The app is free with no ads, no paid upgrades. The developer is providing a great service to the iOS community by providing such a useful tool.

### **--- "Was OK, until ios 26.1 completely broke the filtering"
Was OK, until ios 26.1 completely broke the filtering
-- eazar001, 2025-12-21

### ***** "Amazing app"
Works wonders for filtering annoying spam. No idea how this app is free.
-- Cauhauna, 2025-10-01

### ***** "Working so far"
The only times of which I’ve had problems with the app is when I haven’t configured the settings properly. Spam only comes into iMessage when you don’t put effort, and I’ve also had one message from a valid sender show up in my morning summary but not in my texts.
Bottom line is this: through and modify the filters correctly and it’ll just work without you having to think about it.
