I really love this app, i learn so fast! But, the monthly fee is like, way too much and the songs that u can play don’t sound right. Call me maybe by Carly Rae Jasper doesn’t even have words, just music. So pls fix that and introduce new songs. Thanks!

I used simply piano to learn to play my fav songs Pink venom, Unwritten and lover but it makes my mum pay $139 JUST TO PLAY IT?! God damn it! Like just make it free and no money. I'm my country a law will come where kids under 16 can't have social media and THE FINES ARE $50M PUT URSELF IN MYSHOES it was bad that I just quit. And my mum sold it to my school and the kids wrecked it like all be a cause of the fricking trail! Edit: sorry for swearing I do that when I'm mad

Decent app

I’ve used this app since I’ve started playing and now about 2 years later I have completely finished all the courses. It has taught me many things and I can proudly call myself a casual piano player. A few downsides however, firstly of all the pace of learning is very VERY slow, it will take up a whole hour for it to teach you one tiny topic. This is good if you are a slow learner but for me it was just too slow to teach. Secondly, if your piano doesn’t have MIDI/bluetooth it will listen to the sound from the microphone. This is always very inaccurate and it can take several tries for it to register. Overall, good app

Fabulous App

I started with the Simply Piano app during Covid in 2020. I had a very basic knowledge of some music theory, namely a few left hand chords and I knew where the notes were on the keyboard, but I could not read music. This app costs just over AUD $100 and I was a bit hesitant in paying this amount when I was used to other apps being free or between $6 and $10. But I decided that as it was only $10 a month (similar to a Netflix subscription), that I would give it a try. I’m so glad I did. Within a few weeks I was playing basic songs and was starting to read music. 4 years later I can read music for both hands (treble clef and bass clef) and can play songs like Bohemian Rhapsody and Fur Elise with both hands as well. This app is not a game, it teaches you to read music and play the piano and it does so in a simple way. The practice of music theory is a bit light on in my view, with respect to being able to easily and correctly play the proper length of the notes, but it does a fantastic job of getting you started on your piano journey. For those that complain about the cost, and how expensive it is, they should find out how much an actual piano teacher costs. Continual development of the app to improve it (which is frequently done) and song licensing fees, costs a lot of money. If you are expecting it for free, then you’re not really interested in learning how to play the piano. The cost is an investment in yourself! I can’t rate this app and its developers highly enough.

Honest opinions

Simply piano taught me many music pieces and it also has quick and easy lessons making piano pieces seem more easy which I think is a great perk of simply piano but there are a few flaws that I think might need to be fixed one being the prices being at least over 100 which is just a bit too pricey and with the 2nd flaw being that sometimes the app mishears the chords I play and saying I’m playing wrong although I’m playing the chords correctly but I’m unsure if it’s my device although please fix these flaws I would really appreciate it.

The app is good but this update I’d TERRIBLE!

Ok quick review after trying this for 5 hours. As an experienced piano player I found being forced to do the fundamentals a little jolting, but the teaching style is actually quite fantastic. This is definitely a solid app for anyone wanting to learn for the first time as it teaches you rhythm, hand positions, keys, sight reading and more for a quarter of what weekly lessons would be. My only criticism so far is it’s quite a limited library due to the way they breakdown and get you to learn each piece and doesn’t get past easy to moderate pieces and leaves those looking for high level pieces frustrated. Will give this a spin for the full 7 and see if my opinion changes, but I can’t see the app being worth the $55 if the upper limit of the music isn’t high enough for where I’m wanting to be challenged.
