Sink It for Reddit is a hyper focused Safari extension that makes Reddit's web version usable. Features a ton of quality of life improvements including color coded comments, content muting, adaptive dark mode and more. Tired of seeing too many banners and buttons asking you to use the app or login? Sink It silently, and safely, removes all of them as well as the "promotional" content too!

Sink It also de-clutters and removes most “omfg please use our app” banners and buttons as well as the annoying login popups from Reddit in addition to removing advertisements. Yeah, we loathe them too! 


Privacy First

Sink It has been built with a privacy first approach. 

- All the blocking happens on your device with literally ZERO data being recorded or sent back to be data mined. 
- We don't keep usage data like the count of how many popups and banners it has blocked or links it has redirected. 
- We don't even come with basic app analytics or telemetry to keep track of how many times you've opened or use the app. 
- It does check whether you have dark mode on or not so it can show you the correct tutorial video. (I hate opening a bright video on dark mode as much as you.)

If you're a security researcher, feel free to poke around to make sure the app isn't up to anything funky.

Sink it was great, used to make Reddit useable. Now all of my muted content is no longer muted, ads are prevalent, and Reddit goes back into reset loops again. The app nags haven’t returned but that’s the only thing that still works.

and I swear to god I closed Safari by swiping up to make sure the settings got read and i just got a story at the top of my feed that all three of those words in the title

Whats up with mute words not working? I’ll be happy to change my rating if you find the time to look at and fix it please and thank you

Can we talk about these updates? Every time Reddit decided to implement some stupid idea, Sink It has an update in tow right away saving the day. Please, if you are using this, tell your friends about it because not enough people know about this powerful extension and it seems with every day, Reddit is getting less usable. I can't even navigate it anymore without it.

This app used to work, which made it worth the $5 investment. Since iOS 18, crucial features no longer work. The safari extension frequently causes the site to crash, forcing a reload.

-muted subreddits appear on the home page

This is the main reason I use Sink It. This no longer works.  Additionally:

-automod comments are not auto-collapsed
-promoted content (ads) persist
-site does not remember scroll position

Many more features don’t work that I haven’t listed. Lots of little things add up. Don’t waste your $5 on yet another pointless app.
