Took me a bit to get into it, mostly sat downloaded on my phone for months before I REALLY gave it a shot. Glad I did, this game has loads of in depth content waiting for you to sink your teeth into. It rewards exploration of builds and testing out different combinations of teams and monster fusions. Upgrading gear feels basic but before you know it, you have created your own personal artifacts to destroy hordes of monsters with, or protect your team with. Character classes give TONS of replayability as you can switch between them. I play this game on an iPhone and the controls are too big and are blocking some in-game texts. Modifying the control isn’t that great because it’s either too big or too small. The developer should look at games like Titan Quest, Dungeon Hunters and similar games and add an option for that type of control so that it’s more accessible to mobile players. Lots of mechanics and I’ve only scratched the surface so far. Also appreciate the single purchase for a big game with no microtransactions. Only problem is that it seems to crash somewhat regularly in battle for me, not sure if that’s a common thing or what. EDIT: tried again after awhile, redownloaded, crashing is still bad. Shame as I want to like the gameplay but it’s frustrating frequently losing progress to seemingly random crashes. There were some strange decisions the developers made that makes it difficult to play. The controls are a virtual d-pad. You get a joystick on the left and 3 buttons on the right. Over time, this becomes increasingly uncomfortable. While you can move them around to where you want your thumbs, I found it difficult to use. The scope and complexity of the game will be hit or miss for some. In this game, you fight and collect creatures, adding them to your team. The strength, intelligence, and defense are negligible in importance compared to the creature’s trait. The synergy of traits is what makes the game stand out. Eventually you can merge creature’s traits to make them work better in your party. For example, you may have a cleric with healing builds, and you can merge a creature that gives random buffs on heal with a creature that heals itself. Doing this with unique creatures can give you a solid team of 6 that have 12-18 traits working to your benefit. This doesn’t even include artifacts (think equipment) and spell gems (of which there are hundreds). The scope becomes an issue. With over 1,000 creatures with unique traits, and several dozen potential classes you can be, creating a custom build could take hours or days. When you finally get that perfect build, the battles become very boring. I got to a point with a griffin pyromancer build where I simply clicked “defend” on my first character and it would immediately kill the entire enemy party. Doing that for thousands of battles gets old, quick. This game could take hundreds or thousands of hours to complete, and my understanding is there really is no “complete” here. You beat the story around floor 60, but there are players who’ve made it to floor 1500 (probably higher). Again, great game, just know what you’re getting into. -- Jaysomniac, 2023-12-02 ### ***** "Best RPG I’ve played on the app store" This game is so good that it feels weird that it came from the app store. It’s a great game with endless replay value, zero bugs so far, ZERO microtransactions, endless combinations of monsters and builds(but not so complicated that it makes your brain hurt), quick snappy battles, it’s not super grindy, has great music, and really fun and relaxing dungeon crawling mechanics. Oh and you can customize your castle too with furniture and stuff. And change your character class at any time. It’s fun trying to come up with the most broken builds. It’s simply a good game that is more than worth its price tag. The game is more like a turn based version of Diablo/war frame/etc in the sense that you’re constantly grinding for materials for upgrades and new summons. However, there is no auto save and the game constantly crashes, resetting your progress. It happens every 30 minutes or so. I’ve tried to be more diligent with saving, but it still feels bad losing randomized drops. I’m sure end game it would matter less, but my current experience goes like this: playing pyromancer>saving frequently> finally get a drop that interacts with burning debuff>game crashes and it’s gone forever. Will likely refund, but if the bugs get worked out I would absolutely play it again. Maybe it would work better on a larger phone or something, but for me it’s not playable. -- dawna jo, 2023-03-28 ### ****- "An amazing game I wish I enjoyed playing on iPhone" Siralim is fantastic for so many reasons (like the self-aware humor), which I will detail later as room permits, but I don't want to lure you with the negative headline only to bury it within a wall of text. For that reason, I’ll start with the negatives- 1. The touch controls need a lot of work. To be fair, there are very few touch-control games that I can tolerate. Grindstone and Marvel Snap(!) are easy since they're controlled with taps and one hand. But I even found Diablo Immortal easy to control, much to my surprise, unlike Siralim. The control stick does not float, so you have to hit the right area on impact, which is difficult when I can't feel a physical button. This is worsened by having movement on a grid. There are good customization options for the controls, like making them light or dark mode, and moving them around individually (I tried many different positions for the movement stick, even having all controls on one side), except that all controls are increased or decreased in size together, instead of individually. If I want the character to move to the left, but tapping on the screen makes it go in a different direction 85% of the time, it is just unplayable to me. 2. It needs automatic cloud backups, especially if I’m going to spend hundreds of hours playing. They do have a cloud save system where I can enter a number and upload my save to that number, but I have to remember that number (easy), MANUALLY ENTER IT every time I want to upload my save (major pain), and it isn’t backed up automatically. I found that to be true on my MacBook M1 Max, iPhone 13 Pro Max, and Steam on my Mac and Steam Deck. I wanted to play this game, so I kept buying it until I found somewhere it was acceptable playable to me- Nintendo Switch. Yes, I have the game digitally there, and none of the above issues are present. The controls are FANTASTIC, especially since the sticks and shoulder buttons all combine in a way that allows me to play with both hands or only the left Joy-Con or only the right Joy-Con as the need arises. The save file automatically uploads to the cloud (I do have the annual Nintendo subscription, which is probably required), and I can end a session on my original Switch that I keep in my pocket and pick it up on my OLED Switch that is Satisfye gripped for longer sessions. With those gripes aside, I would like to say that the game is 10/10 otherwise. I’ve put 32 hours in within four days, and completed the main quest line in 26 hours -- Zero Ehxe, 2022-12-19 ### **--- "False God Crash" After killing a False God and selecting an anointment, half the time the game crashes when either trying to open a chest or save the game. This causes you to not only lose the rewards, including the anointment, but also clears the False God mission for some dumb reason. It is a symphony of many dozens of interconnecting systems, melded together in a glorious chorus that harmonizes into an utterly sublime experience. The ability for an individual to express themselves through the building of their character is unparalleled on mobile devices. This is a game as complex as Path of Exile, as deliberate as Divinity: Original Sin 2, and as fun we all had when we played Final Fantasy 6 for the first time. This game offers something that very few others can: hundreds of hours of engaging content and an unsurpassed potential for build customization. The only caveat? For a game as involved as this one is, there isn’t a wiki. You’re going to have to experiment and theory-craft on your own. To some, that is anathema. To others like me, it is a dream come true. You’ve read my ramblings. You know in your heart of hearts whether or not this game is for you. Yes, I was a backer. The game was so ambitious that it was the one and only games I have ever backed on kick starter. I was a 50$ donor and I don’t regret a single penny. Siralim Ultimate is a game that has infinite replay-ability and seemingly endless content. This game is better than most AAA titles being released today. The level of depth in this game is mind blowing. Strategy and team building are loads of fun and intuitive. Sure the pixel art my not be your high end graphics but I think it fits the game perfectly. No extra charges, no ads, no time gates. It’s a monster collecting game/final fantasy like rpg. It’s complex but in a good way. There is a lot to understand but because of the variety of monsters there are so many different ways to play. It’s a grindy game and has a lot end game progression loops. The enemy teams become more and more OP and while you are legit strong you will randomly run into a team that counters you so hard. Try the game out! You will not be disappointed. It’s the best APP game I have come across in over 10 years. I appreciate the developer/s that made it.
