Through the Diglot Weave and TPRS (Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling) blended language learning techniques, Skazki teaches users to elevate their Russian vocabulary, pick up on the patterns of Russian cases, and notice how certain Russian words are inherently intertwined with culture. Skazki is intended to supplement traditional Russian language learning. Perfect for children, Russian language learners, native speakers, and culture enthusiasts! Among the famous Russian tales included are: - The Sea Tsar and Vasilisa the Wise - Koschei the Deathless - The Feather of Finist the Falcon - Vasilisa the Beautiful - The Tale of Tsar Saltan - The Tale of the Golden Cockerel And more... Illustrations included in Skazki are all done by the famous Russian artist Ivan Bilibin, who brought the Russian skazki (mass of folktales) to life with his work (all in the public domain). All translations used are in the public domain. Citation information is still provided. Enjoy! All free." 6 Russian stories in English, each with 3 levels of difficulty: 5 russian words, 15, and 25. Replaces the selected number of words with Russian. All free. Good for learning folk/cultural references, but words are easily forgotten with this method. Also just 6 stories, more would be nice. -- ryanlinagain, 2022-04-01 ### ****- "Not useful for learning currently" This app is a really great idea, but it needs the option of learning more words per story or at least more variety. Some of the words this app decides to translate are also not very useful in a modern context. Overall, this app has little use in it’s current state for someone whose looking to expand their Russian. I really love the idea and the design is fantastic, but I hope the creator puts more work into expanding the language part. -- killmaksym, 2022-03-22 ### ***** "Excellent app! Just a couple suggestions" This is an excellent app to learn Russian. Instead of just giving an entire story in Russian, specific words and phrases are in Russian and the rest in English. Overall a great experience. However, maybe there could be a rotation of words in the stories. For example, I finished a story and wanted to read it again for different words, but it’s just the same with a little more. What I’m saying is that maybe there could be a randomized selection of words every time you read. Otherwise it would be perfect! -- Chekketteta, 2021-12-02 ### ***** "Best app ever" The stories are so so good and are very enjoyable. A great way to get into new cultures. I like this app very much and think that it is amazing. Thank you for creating it :)) -- 10minutebreaks, 2021-10-18 ### ***** "Such a unique learning experience!" What a seamless and involved way to learn Russian! The illustrations and the app design transport me to a different world every time -- ashnag25, 2021-09-28 ### ***** "Amazing app." Wonderful experience that marries folktales and technology in such a powerful way. Highly recommended. -- photographyfan23, 2021-09-28 ### ***** "Absolutely amazing app" My kids and I love listening to the stories on this app and find all the features very educational. Please keep adding more stories! -- boris2746, 2021-09-28 ### ***** "great app" really impressed with the user interface and design! love the concept -- donajuana, 2021-02-05 ### ***** "Very good!"
