GPS will not work accurately indoors.

Ski Tracks will automatically store your ski workout in Health once enabled in Ski Tracks settings. Health data includes energy, distance, descents and other ski metrics which is viewable in the Health app.

This app may use your location even when it isn’t open, which can decrease device battery life.

Ski tracks review

Excellent app providing all the data a skier could want

The best ski tracking app

Other apps hide their costs with in app purchases (no one wants to pay £10 for 7 days tracking!). This app is the best and it exports all the recordings to Apple health that you can then forward on to Strava, Training Peaks, and practically any other platform. Paired up with an Apple Watch and you’ll even get your heart rate for the workout.

I would suggest adding a feature where you can compare your speeds and your skiing with your friends.

Inaccurate recordings

There are two of us using ski tracks and skiing exactly the same amount of runs. However user 1 shows 31 runs and user 2 shows 13 runs ! Therefore the app cannot correct or trusted due to these differences!

Brilliant. Used for five years.

I’ve used this for years. This app is great; really simple and doesnt force you to create an account (unlike strava). Nor does it pester for subscription or purchase. Suggestion for devs; i always take it out of my pocket at the end of runs to see if i broke a record speed. I’d love it if it made a sound when you did so, since i normally have earbuds in. Save checking each time.

Great app but alas no longer syncs with iPhone

Apple seems to ignore this app now, whilst cheerfully plugging its endorsed apps. Great shame because after many happy years I now have run Apple’s Activity app at the same time.

Not working

The onboarding process is missing, it doesn’t guide you to create an account. Apart from that I tried using the companion app for the apple watch (with all the required permissions enabled) expecting to track the gps routes that I took and it failed. Even the date/time was not displayed correctly in the app for my exercises recorded with the watch (being initialized with epoch UTC timestamp from 1970).

Missing one thing

If you could just apply the piste map when looking at the maps this app would be perfect as it’s the only thing missing for a skier. This is because I like to know which tracks I’ve done and there are no other good apps that can record where I’ve been-Maprika used to be good but no longer works and crashed a lot.

Great ski app I’ve used for years now

Started skiing about 10 years ago and used this app for most of those. It’s great to be able to look at past seasons and compare. The watch app works well too, although I’ve just upgraded from a series 2 to a series 8 watch and the Lock Screen button doesn’t seem to be working in the app anymore. Hopefully a bug fix in a release soon.
