App display is great, and integration with telescope control is good, doesn’t have the mosaic planning functionality and observation planning is pretty basic. Major bug is the widgets, information about sunrise and sunset are about 1 hours different than reality.
When you pay top price for everything they then think they can add permanent icons always on-screen to try and sell you more features. No option to say "no thanks" - it's there taking screen space until you pay-up (even though you've already paid the high purchase price for the app). Company that behaves like that should be avoided at all costs - there are excellent alternatives.
It’s a good app …. When it works! I have this on 2 devices and it’s great for a while then it stops working properly. Done it on both iPads. Delete, reinstall and off we go again. Same with the original SkySafari. Shame really.
I have Sky Safari Pro but there does not seem anyway that I can set it to show Meteor Showers. Even the most simple free programs are capable of this. Or am I doing something wrong?
The only minor bug which is that the programme sometimes fails to save any update of the minor body and satellite orbits in the Solar System section. Other than that, no issues.
Can you remove the menu bars appearing in the centre of the screen please? This app looks like is not fully compatible with iOS and I regret that I paid full price por it...
Doesn't seem to implement a daytime sky condition when you select the option in Settings?? Upgraded from Plus to Pro recently everything else seems to be as expected.
It’s still a wonderful app. But SS6 is better: more straightforward and configurable interface for one.
If this version add a FOV same as Pro 5 version to display the dimensions for different camera coms size would be more useful. I need to change to Pro 5 version to measure the angle of view each time. Best wishes.
Do not buy. The serious bug mentioned below has still not been fixed and has potential to break your kit. Got to say in many ways I love this app. I find it intuitive and fairly easy to use but! There is a serious bug, reported by a number of users, that has not been resolved after many months. If, while using the motion controls, your finger moves on the control touch area the button locks and your scope keeps on going. This can be annoying at the least during alignment and potentially can result the scope crashing into the mount. Support say that it will be fixed in the next release but will not indicate when that release will arrive. Until it does stay clear.
