So begins Sleighbear, a gentle, often humorous Christmas story by award-winning author/illustrator Virginia Wright-Frierson. With a tap of the screen, you can watch her original watercolors come to life! The animations, music, and sound effects let you feel the Christmas magic in a way that no traditional holiday book can bring. Sleighbear is a story of friendship, determination and the joy of Christmas. A polar bear baby sees her reindeer friends flying and wants to help carry Santa's sleigh too! You'll fall in love with the little bear and her owl, fox, and reindeer friends. Play hide and seek, tug of war, and practice flying with the little bear and her friends. Santa and Mrs. Claus come up with a wonderful solution that makes little bear so happy! The text appears on the pages in either English or Spanish, chosen by touching the language button in the main menu hidden at the top of each page. Accompanied by soft music, the story is beautifully read in either language or can be muted so that it can be read to a younger child by an adult or older child. Children can interact with the text by touching a small red mitten on each page to produce sound and action events. Touching the Christmas tree green arrow turns each page. As an author/illustrator, Virginia Wright-Frierson is most noted for her scrapbook series of three nature books, each of which won placement on the John Burroughs List of Nature Books for Young Readers (A Desert Scrapbook, An Island Scrapbook, and a North American Rainforest Scrapbook). Virginia is also a fine artist, most well known for the large, inspiring mural painted on canvas and installed permanently on the ceiling of the Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado. Her recent exhibitions have included watercolor and oil paintings. ## Sleighbear Screenshots - [Screenshot 1](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple221/v4/ed/dd/94/eddd94d1-a876-4fcd-2a89-d66ba8d5c9b1/mzl.nlkryqvy.jpg/2208x1242.png) - [Screenshot 2](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple211/v4/84/55/04/845504ba-8743-7998-1a22-43247a0b9180/mzl.hyjtvogh.jpg/2208x1242.png) - [Screenshot 3](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple221/v4/8f/39/6e/8f396e64-f01b-2724-e797-1de2e5d1538a/mzl.mrwefkay.png/2208x1242.png) - [Screenshot 4](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple211/v4/ba/70/1b/ba701b25-0998-80c8-89a1-fedfb65abbca/mzl.eaqgmlrz.jpg/2208x1242.png) - [Screenshot 5](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple211/v4/59/15/d6/5915d6ad-fcef-6e54-f595-318ab8a922b9/mzl.dohpotbz.jpg/2208x1242.png) - [Screenshot 6](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple221/v4/cf/8c/66/cf8c66a4-fdd4-0dc1-58e2-4a83adb020ee/mzl.ivxaxbfp.jpg/2208x1242.png) - [Screenshot 7](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple221/v4/66/14/45/6614455e-9d3a-26ef-b7b5-6b51beeb25c3/mzl.skcmykzh.jpg/2208x1242.png) ## Sleighbear Rating Breakdown in United States - 5 stars: 12 (92%) - 4 stars: 0 (0%) - 3 stars: 0 (0%) - 2 stars: 0 (0%) - 1 stars: 1 (8%) ## Sleighbear Reviews in United States ### ***** "Beautiful and Engaging" A captivating tale of a playful, pure-hearted bear that engenders hope about life’s possibilities. Sleighbear encourages us to pursue our dreams with kindness and persistence, just as the illustrations capture the beauty and joy of Christmas. Wright-Frierson’s fine art style and perspective make each scene come alive! An unexpected pleasure for our family was the child’s sweet voice, fully revealing the little bear’s personality. We wanted to re-view again and again. A treasure for all ages, my parents in their 90’s loved it! -- TanteDewey, 2018-12-14 ### ***** "Whimsical and engaging" The hand-painted illustrations in this book are little worlds you and the children in your life will want to return to again and again. I love that there’s an interactive component, and the story, along with its art, will ignite imaginings of the Arctic and flight. Added bonus: a sweet song to learn at the end. -- Aurora Lee Shimshak, 2018-12-11 ### ***** "Beautiful Children's Christmas Book" Sleighbear is an interactive, digital children's book that is old fashioned in many ways like a traditional book. The art work beautifully illustrates the sweet story of the little bear. But, with a click of the mouse you can make the illustrations come alive while listening to the story accompanied with music. I'm certain children will be filled with wonder and delight as they listen or read this Christmas story in English or Spanish. -- Sleighbear Fan, 2018-12-07 ### ***** "Classic children’s tale" This delightful story brings love and friendship to this December to be shared not only with children but to all of us who still believe in the magic of Christmas. The illustrations could stand on their own as beautiful watercolors, but the addition of music and voices plus animation make this tale take flight! It should be in the hands of everyone whether they have little ones in their lives or not. -- watercolor lover, 2018-12-06 ### ***** "Sleighbear" A delightful, cozy little tale about friendship and determination in the snowy North Pole. I love the delicately water-colored scenes of reindeer and rabbits playing hide-and-seek with this little polar bear who desperately wants to fly with Santa. A gentle flute accompanies our furry heroine through the woods where she practices some counting while enduring the mishaps of early flight. Sleighbear sings beautifully, too, enriching this lovely “find the red mitten” interactive adventure for little ones. Available in English and Spanish. -- Mommommie, 2018-12-06 ### ***** "What a wonderful story" Our one year old loves his new book! It’s a sweet Christmas story with a great underlying message. Strongly recommended to other parents looking for a fun Christmas story to read to their little one! -- burkeness, 2018-12-06 [View all Sleighbear reviews and detailed analytics on AppTail](https://app.apptail.io/signup?utm_campaign=ai-crawl&utm_content=reviews) ## Apps Similar to Sleighbear - [Dr. Seuss Treasury Kids Books](https://apptail.io/app/dr-seuss-treasury-kids-books-dwf/united-states) - [Libro.fm Audiobooks](https://apptail.io/app/librofm-audiobooks-XZh/united-states) - [Chirp Audiobooks](https://apptail.io/app/chirp-audiobooks-Ibq/united-states) - [Little Free Library](https://apptail.io/app/little-free-library-cny/united-states) - [StoryGraph: Reading Tracker](https://apptail.io/app/storygraph-reading-tracker-hoz/united-states) ## Sleighbear Available In - [United States](https://apptail.io/app/sleighbear-cxEu/united-states) - [Azerbaijan](https://apptail.io/app/sleighbear-cxEu/azerbaijan) - [Czechia](https://apptail.io/app/sleighbear-cxEu/czechia) - [Japan](https://apptail.io/app/sleighbear-cxEu/japan) - [New Zealand](https://apptail.io/app/sleighbear-cxEu/new-zealand) --- ## About AppTail [AppTail](https://apptail.io) is a mobile app intelligence platform providing app analytics, ASO (App Store Optimization) tools, keyword tracking, competitor analysis, revenue estimates, and review monitoring for iOS App Store apps.
