Would be better if there was more speed boost and for 10 seconds you can go through other snakes every time you get a special randomly appearing star. Also, if a large snake coils itself up and loses and another snake gets the points, then the snake that just got points will only get a fraction of the points that the snake that just lost had. There should be no limit to the number of points that can be concentrated in a small area.
