people reply kinda late or not at all, but thats not so bad. i love the feature that u can change the age group and gender also the one were both parties have to accept pictures thats the best oh my god!! if you're underage please be super careful of weird people, and just meet friends around your age range please !
I stumbled on this app last week. I wanted to love it, I really, really did. But I don’t. I have written several letters to many different people, all very long and fully detailed and full of love and hope…but not one response. I’m patient, I am, but it’s really disheartening writing such long letters only to be ignored. This isn’t the apps fault, but there really needs to be a way to hold others accountable. Maybe I’m rude for wanting and expecting to be written back to, but it is frustrating and almost depressing feeling ignored by so many people after writing my heart out to them. Maybe a sort of rating system? There is a written:recieved ratio, but that really rubs salt on the wounds when theirs is a 1:2 and mine is a staggering 5:0.
This is a wonderful way to make friends from all over the world, learn about how they live and about their culture and customs. I highly recommend signing up. You can pick your penpals or be matched by your interests. You need not wonder if your looks are being judged because you simply create an avatar that represents your style. People are very kind.
I’ve tried multiple times to sign up for this app and I for some reason, “Something went wrong” 😮💨 I give up. It shouldn’t be this hard to sign up for a simple app.
I get really excited when I see a new letter on its way to me, even if it’s arriving in 2 days. Each letter is thoughtfully written and it brings out the best of us.

so much more enjoyable than email. take the time to explore the eddies and tide pools of your letters, and slow down and enjoy making new friends around the world. I quickly made friends with people in nigeria, UK, Paraguay, and China. It’s a small ray of hope that individuals are good to each other, usually. even if different amounts of melanin in their skin. highly recommend this app!!
I have tried on two devices, every time I try to sign up it just tells me that there is an internal error.
Women who are afraid to exchange letters with men, men who are looking for gay sexting, and people who are simply incoherent. Not a great experience.
CHILDREN are allowed on Slowly. I am an adult. You can imagine how shocked I was when I saw that one of the first letters I had received was from a twelve year old girl. Not only did her letter plainly state that she was twelve (“My name is -. I am twelve years old.”), when I looked at her bio it also said that she was twelve as well. There must not be any age filter on this app. I’m really disturbed by this. The developers should know that the internet is not a safe place for such young children. I don’t think it’s an exaggeration to say that this app is an opportunity for pedophiles to groom children. This app needs an age restriction ASAP, and a filter so that accounts that start their letters with “I am twelve years old” are deleted. I’ve deleted my account.
