Several times I couldn’t login because the server wasn’t serving! Thankfully, the cashiers were able to help me…mainly because I refused to move until I was charged the prices advertised in the weekly PAPER brochures! I was so angry about being played a fool by a lame app, as if the corporation WANTED the customers, ESPECIALLY SENIORS, to just give up and pay full prices! After 4 visits of holding up lines and insisting on getting the sale prices, I finally learned how get the digital discounts on my own! HOORAY! On my next visit, I needed only one item that was on sale, and I was in a hurry. I was sure I would be able to get in and out quickly, so guess what!!! They changed the entire interface and I had to start from scratch and create a brand new password! It is SO infuriating to claim I FORGOT my password when THEY changed the app…but I was determined to NOT let the store get their way and FORCE me to give up and pay full price! So I re-registered. That must have been the “new and improved” version of the app. That must have been the day when Smart & Final became “FINALLY SMART,” which is my personal nickname for the store. So, yeah, for the time being, the app has been working great, and I hope the developers don’t decide to make changes and screw it up again. By the way, I possess a masters degree in Educational Technology and have over 25 years experience teaching computer applications in grades K to 12. I believe these store apps should be very user friendly, which they are NOT. Developers should be able to imagine what it’s like for those who used (and still use) flip phones, and have NEVER needed to use a smartphone in order to get the sale prices advertised on the PAPER weekly ad brochures, which are available immediately upon entering the stores.

The recent update is buggy and the format is horrible. Digital coupons not working after the update. Employees need training and alerts from managers when there is a known issue. Override the system at check out. Customers deserve better

Even store personnel cannot figure out how to make work

Went to the store. Tried to get a digital coupon but couldn’t sign in or get the coupon. I have 5g and all bars so it was wasn’t the access. Something is wrong with the system. Didn’t have this problem with any of the other grocery store apps. I left the store and didn’t buy anything.

Used to be able to add digital coupons on app and pull up digital advantage card when checking out at register to access coupons. Now the card will not load on app, stating I have not added a loyalty card. Extra step when trying to add digital coupons and you’re redirected to a website to sign into first. Sort of defeats the purpose of an app, I think. I ended up having to screenshot my advantage card, hopefully it will work and give me my coupons at check-out!

6/2024 — I previously wrote about issues with using the new app; additionally, having problems signing in via website. I am now able to use either method to access Smart and Final. Thank goodness. I use it quite often & works well for me now. Previous review: Since new update January 2024, I’m unable to sign-in to the app. Deleted then reinstalled as well. I have both Apple and Android devices. Doesn’t work on either brand. Obviously, there are some bugs that need attention. I even tried to sign-in thru Internet website. It wouldn’t let me sign-in there either as it would not accept my updated password. Very frustrating. I’m going to wait awhile to give them time to work it out. It’s a shame. Don’t know why they mess with things that work perfectly fine. Well, I tried not to star rate but review won’t take without it. I love Smart and Final. Can’t hate an app one can’t use, but because I can’t use going to rate it one star. Will readdress once it’s up and running properly. Hopefully soon!

1.9 stars, what an embarrassment! Fire your app developer and hire the people who did Vons or Ralphs.

I use an iPad with a keyboard, like a laptop, as many others do. Now I can’t use this app unless I remove my keyboard and hold my iPad vertical like a book. Why do you people think that we only use our iPads in portrait mode when all keyboards and stands are designed for landscape use? Please allow us to rotate the screen any way we want it! You sent me an email asking me to update my review. I’ll update my review when you make this app work correctly on an iPad!

Worst store app of stores in the country. Why do I have to buy a new phone to use your app. This is a rip-off of the public I agree the worse app I have tried to install and use IT DOES NOT WorK!!!!!!!!!

I keep getting unable to load shopping mode, whatever I click on it tell me unable to load delivery time, unable to load pick-up time. The app is not working like it used to, I am unable to do ANYTHING in the app.
