This app is truly dumb, cannot connect Yamaha clp series via wifi at all.

Great app that has all the beginner features you’d want as a piano player. However I’m really stumped on how to loop recordings. I can’t work it out. Im trying to loop a recording and then play on top of it :/

We’re using it with a P125. Was really looking forward to using smart pianist with our P125 but disappointment set in with the usb cable restrictions. Why restrict to USB V2 for an iPhone/iPad? Using old tech with new tech!! 3rd purchased cable later we got it working. First thing I noticed is we lose all the modern songs and lessons with the P125. Not a suitable app for a beginner player! All we have is the 50 classic songs to play with. The 50 songs are good but nothing for a beginner. Next major disappointment is how poorly the tempo setting works when playing a song. It resets every time you press stop/play. On an iPhone this is incredibly annoying because the tempo setting is many clicks and views away. On the iPad it is easier to re-adjust but the other silly thing is that you can’t adjust it unless the song is playing. Not sure if the tempo thing is by design or a bug. I hope its on their radar to fix because it makes learning these songs impossible for newish players. All that aside its a very cool app with very smart features. I wish you could add additional songs with scores or unlock the ones it hides when using with the P125. If they allowed that and fixed the tempo then I’d give this 5 stars. Re the USB cable. I purchased a USB host to iPhone cable (usb 2) from amazon. You can’t use an adapter with your apple usb iPhone cable because that’s usb 3 and usb 3 is not supported!

I can’t fathom what went through Yamaha people’s minds when they thought they wanted to publish this app. As an AvantGrand piano owner, I haven’t been able to put this app to even one single good use. The user experience is extremely confused as you cannot find your way through this app without a manual. App messages are so cryptic. Even the PDF scores don’t work. I was happy I could find Czerny and Hanon practice books, until I realized the app doesn’t work and will not display the score books. This is so typical of Yamaha not caring a single bit about their customers once they have cashed in the purchase (no firmware update to fix keyboard bug with random stuck key). Maybe it is a cultural gap (err, cultural abyss) between JP and Europe about customer relationship, but this app (and post-sales relationship more broadly) is a glaring disgrace.

Such a terrible interface. Hard to know where you are in the app or how to get back to main screen. From Yamaha, I expect much better.

Cette app est superbe pour tous les paramètres du piano et pour l’import et la lecture de partitions. Pouvoir annoter ses partitions avec le Pencil serait juste génial

J’apprécie cet outil d’apprentissage, je regrette juste l’absence de doigté qui aurait été un vrai plus et peut être la possibilité d’avoir ce doigté sur un PDF comme proposé dans les cours.

Yamaha regardez les avis !! Si cette app reçoit plus de 1 étoile que de 5 c’est bien pour une raison ! L’application est inutilisable depuis 1 mois pour ma part, je délaisse mon piano et vous me faites perdre l’envie de jouer du piano à cause de vos c*nneries ! Alors mettez l’app à jour et écouter les critique bon dieu !!

J’ai acheté un piano YAMAHA PS500 et avec cette application les paramètres sont hallucinants!!! On peut jouer de plein d’instruments , jouer avec des chœurs de chorale , se faire accompagner d’un orchestre et tout paramétrer les possibilités sont sont sans fin Aucun bug l’application est rapide et réactive PARFAIT!!!
