Cannot hit “Next” button after entering WIFI details
Tried connecting brand new fridge and dishwasher but neither of them will let me hit the “next” button after joining the local machine WIFI as the app instructs.
Will not auto find either unit despite following instructions.
Have uninstalled/reinstalled and power cycled both appliances but still no good.
Poor form to advertise smart appliances that are anything but.
Bugged
Can’t push next button when connecting to appliances wifi from my phone
Lacking custom sound notification
Be good to be able to have a custom sound notification as opposed to the default phone sound notification
Bugged App
Can’t get past the sign up. Fill out all the details add my password and agree to the Ts&Cs and then it jumps back to select country and says try again later.
Useless.
Aircon application
What a bunch of idiots I wish they’d stop upgrading something that needs to be very simple and now it’s completely broken
Finally fixed it up to 2 1/2 weeks not cool guys
Privacy? Broken for new F&P dishwashers
Bought a new dishwasher (Fisher & Paykel) today got it home, set it up and followed the instructions to install the app.
Now I write iOS Apps for a living so I know how things work under the hood.
Before I wrote iOS Apps I specialised in routers and computer networks. 30 years I've been a developer for.
So when this App tells me it MUST know my location for it to be able to operate I beg to differ.
I've already been through a sign up process where I had to state my country of residence, twice.
That's all any company should need to know about me to be able to make a home appliance smart and connected.
So I have serious privacy concerns to start with here.
Then there's adding my new dishwasher to the app after I gave in and allowed it my location (not accurate one).
I can't add it.
It looks like a software bug on the page telling you to change your iPhone's WiFi to the WiFi network your dishwasher creates.
I do as asked, connect the phone and return to the page.
The black "Next" button is now no longer shaded out but dark and beckoning to be pressed.
But press away as much as you like the button doesn't work. Perhaps forget to setEnable: on the UIButton chaps?
That's where I'd start looking.
I wish Apple would clamp down harder on these location demanding antics because there's just no need for it.
So that's a shame, I'll delete the app for now and maybe come back to it.
If I've got spare time I might reverse engineering my dishwashers protocols over WiFi and write my own App for it.
One that doesn't make me give away my location so that Haier sends the boys round to "sort me out".
Notifications don’t send
Update: notifications are now arriving on my device. Thank you!!
This app could be great but needs a bit of work. First up - notifications don’t send on ios17. I can see them in the app notification history but they never land on my phone. Have triple checked all settings, deleted and reinstalled, but no go. Doesn’t look like background app refresh works either, my appliances refresh upon opening only. And as another reviewer has said, you have to enable remote use on the device before controlling it remotely. Different appliances have different specs - with my dryer I can see cycle history but no cycle history with dish drawer.
Dumb
It’s stupid that to remote control appliances, you need to turn them on manually and allow them to connect each time. What is the point in being able to control your washer, dryer, dish drawers etc if you have to physically manipulate them each time beforehand.
Connection issues
After following all the instructions you get stuck when you go to enter the password for the dishwasher. The App crashes and sends you back to the start. Tried the scan function with the dishwasher is various states and it can’t find it.
