It also took Apple 9 years to release its own iPad version of iOS. But I no longer understand how any iOS developer could be happy shipping iPad-compatible apps that have not been optimized to utilize the larger screen. Why do I still have a fake phone-sized version of this App a few days before 2025, FIFTEEN YEARS, after there was clearly a need to do some simple UI tweaks to simply have a native app. Please, for the love of god let your New Year’s resolution be spending two weeks making the app look good on my giant 12.9” iPad. I will also continue to quietly hope Apple finally tells you all they no longer support the bandaid temporary fix they implemented before some high school students today were born. How a company like Apple, known for its attention to detail in designs, doesn’t change its policy on this is beyond comprehension. -- XcvX, 2024-12-30 ### *---- "SmartHQ app is a joke" I own a GE Ultrafresh Vent washer and dryer, and I hooked my appliances up to the SmartHQ App. Unfortunately, the app doesn’t even allow me to remotely start my washer and dryer because this feature is not allowed. Unfortunately, I still have to manually turn on the washer and dryer by hand when standing in front of them, and then I am able to somewhat control my appliances. Come on, GE! You all can do better than this. What is the use of the Smart HQ app if one cannot completely control their appliances by starting and stopping them remotely? What a joke of an app! I can’t turn the temperature up or down, or turn a burner on or off. To control temperature I’d need to purchase smart pots and pans or buy a particular Bluetooth thermometer, neither of which get particularly good reviews. My oven also dings with one minute left so if I’m baking cookies or something similar I can check it early to see if I need to take it out. I really love that 1 minute warning. Some of them actually look gross. Definitely not appetizing. I have a recently purchased washer, dryer and ice maker. I can see my units are connected to my internet on our end, but it will not go thru at all in the app. I spent over an hour on the phone with tech support only to end with okay well we’ll send this to our engineers. You may get a call in the next 5-7 business days. While this doesn’t affect me being able to use the washer and dryer, there are features I had purchased this for that utilize the WiFi.
