Smashing Four is a free to play game and as such it doesn't require you to spend any money to fully enjoy its smashing multiplayer. However, it is possible to buy game currency or special offers using real money via in-app purchases. Currency can be used to acquire products such as Coins, Hero cards or Orbs that may help you progress faster. This does not ensure victories in battles. We do not support 'pay to win' mechanics.

Those adds that are  a minute or longer are not worth it, especially the ones with clickbait’s.  They show you the “x” to close them, you tap it and it takes you to the App Store, or you tap it and then takes you to some logo screen that just stays there for another 10 seconds before either giving you the tap again to close, or send you to an additional screen. I’m finding myself more and more often just closing the game and maybe try and see if I feel like playing later because I genuinely like the concept of the game. Don’t know how long that I may keep playing at all if it keeps up.

Every time I’m doing any challenge I get disconnected at some point and I get an immediate loss.  Sometimes it happens before a match even starts. Doesn’t happen during normal play so something is definitely wrong with that part of the game.

Once you get to a certain point the only way to win is to consistently buy the characters you want/need. And in tournaments why can’t both players choose between the same two characters at a time how it is currently one player will always have better characters to play with.

The previous owners of this game were not much better, but ever since Alien LLC took over the SmashingFour platform, the prizes are getting smaller and the costs are rising. There are constant issues with game access and game responsiveness. There are constant complaints about enemy characters being overpowered and not getting the appropriate hit scores. This leads to match losses, which leads to ending long-term win streaks. The algorithms are monitoring a players successfulness and they can be easily observed altering the gameplay if you’re doing well for a certain period of time.

Alien LLC does not have any gratitude for the players that invest money into the game. They have made what you purchase more expensive and they have reduced what you get for that increased cost. The rewards seem to be getting smaller and gameplay quality is going down.

But quite possibly the worst thing about these new developers is the incomprehensible number of ads and the length and duration of those ads. It is not uncommon to be faced with a 90 second of ad before you’re allowed to claim a reward or open a prize. 90 and 120 second intervals of ads are very common. At times you have to click four, five, or even six buttons to close an ad or to end an ad. Alien LLC is getting paid to allow those ads to tie you up in your gameplay and it’s extremely distracting. It almost feels abusive to take something that has not changed for years and years, and suddenly make it harder to obtain, requiring more ads to obtain it, and reduce the actual amount of gameplay you get.

And all we're getting in return is manipulated match making, unfair matches leading to hard earned win streaks.

Ice arena is such a joke when it comes to snowballs being spawned right in front of your character at the worst possible time literally making it so you have no possible shot. Especially when ive been playing people with higher level characters than me too. Screw this pay to win garbage fire. Go twiddle your thumbs instead. At least you wont get 100 ads a day trying to get you to buy 100 dollars worth of gems for a dead ahh game.
