Your app literally is stuck in the spin of death Never opens

The app doesn’t work very well, the stores all have poor cell service, and the employees either don’t care or don’t know how to make it work. I have increasingly started taking my business elsewhere because savings are locked behind a dysfunctional app that adds complexity to my trip to the store. When the coupons don’t work (which is often) the employees just override and key in a price. This is making their inventory tracking worse than the previous method of using a member number.

I just spent the last four hours on the phone with three different customer service people trying to get my online order to process. It turns out the reason it couldn’t was because I moved. I added all of my new information…but apparently the store was protecting me in some way by denying my order. So after three half-hour 'on-hold' sessions waiting for the 3 customer service people that were required to get my address properly changed on their records, plus the extra 1/2 hour 'on hold' just to call in, then another 1/2 hour spent changing my personal data on my Smiths account, I finally got my order processed! I think all the long hold times were because other people were having equally frustrating problems!

Confusing and hard to use. Even the cashiers can’t help when trying to use the “digital coupons”

What’s the point of having an app that doesn’t issue refunds? I still have to call the store?? What’s the point of the app even having this option just to waste an hour of my time to tell me you have to call the store? Walmarts app don’t make me call the store to fix an overcharged issue. SMH

This is not the review I wanted to leave for this app. I love the Smith’s app and having been using it to pick up my groceries for years. However, as someone who is in recovery from an eating disorder, the new OptUp list score is deeply disappointing. Having my grocery choices evaluated by an app I did not ask to perform that task, and having the display non-removable is pretty triggering of my eating disorder. I hope Smith’s rethinks this terrible decision soon or I may have to shop elsewhere for the sake of my mental and physical health.

I have used the app for years. But recently when I try to use the search function, the app freezes or doesn’t allow the keyboard to come up. It makes creating orders difficult and when I arrive at the store you cannot add the spot. I restart the app, and have deleted and reuploaded the app but it continues to happen.

With the most recent update, an OptUp score is pinned to the top of your shopping list with no way to opt out. This feature rates how healthy your cart is. This is a nightmare for anyone in recovery from an eating disorder. Shame on Kroger for not considering that! Make it optional. Otherwise you could be causing people to relapse.
