Driving license
Now renew driving license is via digital, as for now I can’t submit renewed driving license cos the app don’t accept picture of softcopy and only physical license which had expired. It’s so dumb as I can’t use Socar now. At least have an option for us to submit via email or cust service for the digital license.
Overcharge
We had their service 2 weeks ago, we return the car all in good condition, but after 2 weeks i receives an email to pay penalty Rm100 ohh this is how you do the extra money ?? this will be an first and last to use this app so bad service .

Bad fuel reimbursement system
My claim for fuel was rejected because they insisted to have a post-fuel receipt (Just for everyone’s context- this is not the RM200 pre-authorized transaction but legit RM50 that I refuel the car with)
Appeal to the support team and mentioned that’s the final copy of the receipt that I could I get from the counter but was still rejected.
Ended up renting another car (if that’s how you guys wanna make money?) to drive to the station and record the explanation of the cashier to prove my point. (let’s see if this round it woulf be approved 🤔)
System wise: I’m pretty sure they have the record of the increase during my booking but insisted to create this much of hassle to their user. I’ve been using the app for 4 years time and this is the worst experience with them.
Not to also mention that the support team is bengong gila because their app doesn’t allow the video as it exceeded 20MB and the support team still ask me to tap on the clip button after I told her I have did so. SERIOUSLY?! Their response is so template-y that it feels they just wanna chase you away to hit their AHT.
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE, WAIT NOT WORSE, IT DOESN’T EVEN EXIST
I have been a loyal SOCAR user for around 4 years and I have been finding the app useful for me.
However, one big thing, that I hate the most is their non-existent, super slow and braindead customer service. The process is so robotic and it can take you long time just to solve one simple issue that should’ve taken seconds to solve.
For bigger inquiry, most of the times they will ask you to email them about it and guess what? Their inbox is full and all that long-written email text stating and explaining all your problems will be for nothing. Hey Socar, do you want me to buy you a storage for your email?
Back then, in the app, we have this live chat button where we can ask for help in a much more convenient way although it is still too complicated and time consuming. However, they decided one day to remove that permanently and do not replace that with anything.
Furthermore, for a company where safety is the most important thing here, they do not even have a hotline. What if there is something wrong with my car and you need immediate contact? YOU WANT ME TO EMAIL YOU AND WAIT FOR THREE DAYS JUST TO GET REPLIED, “RECIPIENT INBOX IS FULL”?
Receive OTP but unavailable to enter
Useless apps, receive OTP with registered phone number but still cant be use.
Quality of the car is bad
Recently the quality of the car is getting worse. Sure it is not roght to complaint here but i already told the customer service but they seem dont care about my complaint.
I got once a car with broken wiper. And it was heavy rain and it was really dangerous at that time. Another incident, I got once car with very bad condition and headlight did not work. I book for night time for a couple hours. Their solution is to replace car which will take hours to arrange while my booking time just for 3 hours. More over the parking spot is random. Can't find the right place easily.
Bad! Improve your service. Just because you don't have competitor, doesn't mean quality can be ignored, right?
Very unfriendly App
Very time I think there is hope I end up with much more frustration using their app.
1. First that auto face capture for identification - it would tell u submitted but u never get answer if it’s approved, while in app there is no way to know if it’s approved.
2.customer service: nightmare, cause only have chatbot - good luck finding that, and they will reply u in the chat - we will look into it for 1-2 days, so for my point 1 above reject respond 2 days and resubmit 2 days, and the goose chase goes on.
GoCar registration to approval and booking a car took me within an hour…that’s service. Hope this app also improves.
