## SocialLite Description
SocialLite is a free app that blocks shorts from Instagram, shorts from YouTube and other short form content from other platforms. It is the app for people who want to use social media without losing hours to endless scrolling.

We don't block social media entirely - that's not realistic. Instead, SocialLite surgically removes the most addictive features while keeping the parts you actually need.

WHAT GETS BLOCKED

- Short-form video feeds designed to keep you scrolling
- Algorithmic recommendations and suggested content
- Explore and discovery pages
- Live streams and shopping tabs
- Ads and sponsored posts

WHAT YOU KEEP

- Direct messages and conversations
- Profiles you intentionally visit
- Content friends send you directly
- The ability to post and share

HOW IT WORKS

SocialLite provides a focused browsing experience for popular social platforms. Check your DMs without getting pulled into endless video feeds. Browse messages without algorithmic content hijacking your attention.

When you tap on a video someone sent you, you can watch that specific video - but you can't scroll to the next one. This simple guardrail is the difference between a 30-second check-in and a 30-minute spiral.

PRIVACY FIRST

SocialLite doesn't track anything related to your social media, we store your info on your device meaning it never touches our server so there is no possible account risk on our end. Additionally we do not sell any data, the only data we use is opt in, and its purely to see which ads you saw to use SocialLite, this helps us on our mission to bring this to as many people as possible. Privacy and Security is our priority and we are happy to answer any questions via dms, or email.

 Your attention is yours.

Take back your time. Download SocialLite today.

## SocialLite Reviews in United States

### ***** "Highly recommend! Few bugs but totally worth it!"
As for most people who downloaded this app, I’ve also been on a search for a way to block short form content. Unfortunately, the only way was to either practice abstinence or completely delete all of the apps. But this app is geniunely fantastic! Considering it’s just the 1st version, and factoring in how quickly these guys even released the app, some bugs are excusable. The software can be a little slow, and for me (iPhone16) the DMs don’t seem to work— after opening someone’s chat, it never loads in for me to actually send any kind of message. It also doesn’t permit me to message anyone new (prior to downloading SocialLite. I have to first go on my regular Instagram app, message someone there, so a new chat gets created for them, and then hop back over. But still can’t send any DMs through SL).
And this app is FREE (with premium options, but it’s literally only 3.99 a month and not required for a great experience) which is such a rare word to see nowadays.

Totally worth the download.

### ***-- "Needs one more feature!"
This app is awesome! I want to use it more. However, I would really like to see the ability to add other account’s posts to your story on insta. Idk if that’s even possible because it’s obviously just using the web version of instagram, but that’s definitely a necessary feature for me to fully part from the instagram app itself. Thanks!
-- KingJulien2504, 2026-03-11

### *---- "banned from instagram"
got flagged as bot behaviors from 3rd party app.
-- Another col man, 2026-03-11

### ***** "Great"
Amazing for the first version! I waited on this app for about 2 months and im so impressed how fast they got it released. There are some bugs and it can be slow at times but i cant wait to see it improve!
-- Cole nels, 2026-03-09

### ***** "Have to hand it to them…"
They made a pretty good app. I was very skeptical at first when I saw it announced on their Instagram. I had this idea a while ago and tried to build it, but I was told it could not be done. I just hope these guys are careful because I know Meta doesn’t like when people utilize their services through a workaround app. It’s a phenomenal app, I just hope it stays up for time to come.
-- DevinComputer, 2026-03-08

### ****- "Great"
I have been wanting a feature like this to turn off instagram reels without deleting the app and now I have it so yay!
-- Strawberrybush!, 2026-03-05

### ***** "Great but a few small things"
Love the app, great concept. There are some issues within the apps that sometimes make it hard to use. For example, in instagram when opening the comments of watching a reel in the feed, it resets the video and there is no video playback feature to look through the video. Sharing videos doesn’t work well on insta. Reposts and viewing pfp don’t work also. There is no player on YouTube when existing app. Opening links doesn’t work. App is a little slow but understandable. Overall great app. Ever since I heard about it I was stoked and eager for it to drop. I know it’s a developing app and issues are expected but working on these functionality issues can bring lots more users. At first I didn’t like that it was on one app but it makes it better now I and I get that this is the only way. But by sharpening the app’s functionality and smoothness can really make this a game changing app for many.
-- BENSPETERS, 2026-03-05

### ****- "Great start, needs some fixes"
I’ve been wishing there was something like this for YEARS since ive had to keep deleting and redownloading social media to stay in communication with certain people. I love it so far, BUT i wish there was a way to repost or share to your story on instagram.
-- Jenae :), 2026-03-05

### ***** "3 days in"
A couple days in! Screen time has dropped from 7hrs to 2hrs I am so grateful for this app. Seriously guys thanks!
-- John Limpus, 2026-03-04

### ***** "Revolutionary app"
If you are hooked to any social media then download. Don’t think twice.
