4.0 introduced more functionality but with that came complication. I don’t need all the advanced features and I think now I’ve finally got it configured to work for me. Still some tweaks I’d like : 1. Manual reordering of items within a list 2. The ability to swipe between lists It’s meta data look up is amazing and turns this into a rich list maker just need those couple of pieces mentioned above to fully fit my needs.
I’ve been a fan of sofa for a while but I think the recent 4.0 update was a huge step backwards. They added more flexibility to track anything in anyway but it made the app feel less purposeful for tracking tv and movies. I would have much rather seen more opinions about how to make this the best tv and movie tracker and instead we got a soft of notion replacement?
It is excellent, clean UI, easy to use, and offers a lot in regards to many apps which usually only account for one sort of entertainment medium. The only thing it’s missing to be the best app of all time is a select random button. I love being able to see a wall of things I want to see, but now it’s about not wanting to choose lol. The only thing this app lacks compared to most other downtime organization apps, watchlist apps etc. Is that function.
Apple rightly highlighted the Sofa app as an editors’ choice. I use it almost everyday and happily subscribed right away. After the big 4.0 update, I ran into a problem based on the idiosyncratic way I had been using the app to that point. I emailed the developer, and Shawn responded to me the next day with a couple of helpful suggestions, which got me back on track. Excellent!
I was going to stick with the free version of the app because while it was previously lovely, it didn’t go beyond the basics of lists like movies, music, etc. now that I can bookmark and list just about anything, it’s absolutely worth it, so I’ll be using the monthly plan and eventually I might even buy the lifetime purchase just so I can support the development and keep the app forever. On top of everything else the themes are so cute and versatile and it feels like my own set of lists just how I want them. Bravo!
It would be nice that youtube videos like Flick Connction can hav a link of th movies that he discuss can be imported into the app. The purchase restore did not work in the beginning
The app is awesome, but not a fan of subscriptions. That being said the lifetime purchase is way to high.
The absolute audacity of asking for $35 A YEAR SUBSCRIPTION for this. UPDATE: This developer now wants $180 for lifetime access. This app is less usable than the stock notes app. DO. NOT. BUY.
Two needed features: - ability to rate content so we can sort/filter our favorites - ability to distinguish between shows that have been altogether completed & those for which upcoming seasons are still in production so we can keep track of completed shows we’d like to continue when the next season drops
Never using my notes app again for movies, books, and tv shows I want to watch or have watched.
