Sonnenfinsternisse gehören zu den eindrucksvollsten astronomischen Ereignissen. Diese App lässt Sie mittels Zeitrafferfilme an den verschiedenen partiellen, ringförmigen und totalen Finsternissen der Jahre 2009 bis 2015 teilhaben. Auf die Sonnenfinsternisse der Jahre 2016 und 2017 bietet die App einen Ausblick und beschreibt deren Beobachtungsmöglichkeiten.
Darüber hinaus bietet die App für aktive Sonnenbeobachter Zugriff auf ausgewählte tagesaktuelle Sonnenbilder der SOHO-, SDO- und STEREO-Satelliten und Zugriff auf die Website www.sonnenwind-observatorium.de, die Sonnenaufnahmen einer Privatsternwarte im H-Alpha-, CaK-Licht und im Weißlicht dokumentiert.
