Solar Monitor Pro FAQ
Is Solar Monitor Pro free?
Yes, Solar Monitor Pro is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is Solar Monitor Pro legit?
🤔 The Solar Monitor Pro app's quality is mixed. Some users are satisfied, while others report issues. Consider reading individual reviews for more context.
One of my favorite astronomy apps! The iPad version stopped updating the solar images that appear across the top of the screen (the last image update was on June 21, 2022). I deleted the app and then reinstalled it, but that did not make a difference.
Not keeping up, cant get help
I was a dedicated user but a significant issue has developed. Since early March, the x-ray flux has not updated. I don’t know if that reflects a COVID-19 issue, or not. Website email link no longer functioning. I bought what I thought was an upgrade but that was a phone version with the same x-ray problem. They had no problem accepting my new payment, though. Given that flares are commonly rated by their x-ray strength, I hope this issue is fixed soon. Then,, it will go back to being my favorite solar app by far.
Update: Since this outfit is ignoring updates (still no x-ray flux replacement) I’m no longer happy with this app and do not recommend it. You can find nearly everything on it at internet sites.
Love it, any chance of updates?
For the iPhone?
Please Update iPhone Version To iOS 11
Not only is the Solar Monitor App great, but the author is awesome. This one of the best apps in the iStore. It's precise, accurate and timely. If you're like us and need solar data and visuals instantly, for whatever application, this is the "go to" app. We've used it for years. And it still runs on iPhone 4 to iPad 2. We can't say enough of how valuable this app is.
UPDATE: 26 Jun 2017
Developer immediately fixed issue and once again, the Solar Monitor app is now functioning perfectly. This is an invaluable app with the conditions being observed in the solar environment and with the health risks involved. Thank you for a great app.
Doesn't work on iPad pro
Just bought this and it worked at first on my iPad pro until I went to settings to set my notifications and then it stopped working, it just doesn't display? Turned it on in settings and it immediately tunes off???
Professional Grade App
This app gets better and better with each new release. As an emergency manager I use this app to keep tabs on potential space wx impacts to the power grid and sensitive critical infrastructure.
Solar pro
Excellent app for info on the sun. Well worth the purchase. Now where did I put my PST.
Reviews
The previous reviews must have been written by the developer's friends or family. Don't buy this app of you expect a guide or support. Also, there are other apps with more animations of solar satellite views and are far more interesting. This could be a great app for those who are not astrophysicists if it were more user friendly. Those who know what all the information on the charts mean don't buy it. I'm sorry I did.
Solar Monitor Review
This is a fantastic app! I have recently had one problem with opening the 1st page.
Important scientific information yet simple elegant design for the non-scientist
Gives the information you want without struggling to understand. Plus the alert is the essential key if you have a plan in place in the event of severe CME. I'd be more stressed out if I didn't have this ap. How else would you know about a flare?
