This app is beyond helpful and helped reduce the stress of feeding and introducing new foots to my baby. Most have images and if not detailed descriptions of how to introduce each food at each stage. I was recommend this app from a paediatric dietitian. I used it often and I highly recommend it to all the new moms I know. Must download!  Thank you to the creators and everyone at Solid Starts! You have no idea how much this helped us.

I purchased the bundle back in 2022 with my first child. We were so impressed with the guides and videos and access to the app. Especially when they said it will always be free and that you would always have access. Well after my first child finished solids introduction, I chose not to maintain a subscription because we no longer needed it, it became super buggy and we lost all our progress and it was always supposed to be free. Well second kiddo comes around and I can’t add a profile, track foods, and now can only look up six items before I lose access unless I fork over $130. This is ridiculous, charging $130 for families to learn how to safely and nutritiously feed their families, in a time where healthy food already seems like a luxury. Its as much as a bloody streaming service.

This app was so useful with my now 18 month old. Moving everything behind a paywall after saying they wouldn’t is not cool. I’m sure there are other ways to profit off the work you do for the app. Deleting now and sadly won’t be able to recommend to friends with younger babies.

The app is very expensive. The free food database was great (although not free anymore, which is disappointing). I bought a one year membership during the Black Friday Sale after doing a free trial, because I was interested in the compass for my 6 month old. I do not like that you can’t look ahead. My baby had an allergic reaction, so I’m waiting for further guidance on allergens from my doctor, but the app won’t let me move past the allergen introductions. I don’t like just checking them off, since this renders tracking inaccurate. And it’s an absolutely ridiculous price, even with the discount. Will be on the lookout for an alternative.

I paid $10/year subscription with my first child in 2021, then used the free food database after her first year to double check serving suggestions. I just went to sign up again as my second child is almost 6 months, and the cost is now over $10/ month and the database is no longer accessible without being a member. Thanks, but no thanks.

A baby food(purée) company founder is incoming CEO of the solid starts app now, and one of the first things he did was raise the price of solid starts over 10x as much for parents wanting to learn how to feed their baby solid food. Also there’s only a limited free trial, no more free basic feature set.

Now this information that used to be free and was so helpful for my firstborn, and for the last couple months with my second, has suddenly been added to the membership and is no longer freely available. App deleted. Will be looking for new resources that are accessible for all.
