Items missing/too American
Missing certain foods and herbs and not that useful if your child has an allergy like dairy for instance. Very basic. Would be amazing if it had a more extensive list of foods, herbs etc and was less American.

Doesn’t save my profile
Started great and was able to save to my child’s profile all the foods we’ve tried and notes I added in. After an update of some sort, I had to log in again and all the data was lost, and doesn’t let me add my child’s profile to save the foods. Disappointed
So grateful for this app
Best way to start your solid food journey. Whether your doing baby lead weaning or purée it gives you ideas for both. Recipes are simple and the advice given is a godsend. I only 4 star because I would like to see more cultural foods included or ways to add your own foods and recipes e.g cornmeal/polenta which I had to select corn as was not available. Also a nice add on would be being able to share the milestones your baby reaches with family and friends.
Extremely Helpful for Weaning
This app has given me so much confidence with introducing my baby to so many different foods. I can quickly search for a type of food and immediately get a tonne of information about it. The pictures of how to serve are brilliant, the other thing I’ve found really useful is the videos of children eating the food - it’s such a confidence booster knowing what to expect. The only tiny thing I would suggest for improvement is sometimes it just says ‘cook’ the food, and I would like to know what way to cook! Do I roast/steam? etc. I felt all at sea when I started the weaning process and although I’m still learning and muddling through, I would have struggled so much without this app so thank you.
Extremely useful
I am new to the world of BLW as a first time Mum. I have chosen to go on a mixed route with purées and BLW just recently. This app contains extremely valuable resources to guide on this journey. Their various articles on the blog and Instagram account also share useful information daily and helped me prep for this phase.

App keeps freezing! Can’t do anything.
Misleading TikTok
So I found this app from the TikTok account and as my baby is close to the weaning stage I though this would be incredibly useful and FREE. I’m a single mum and don’t have much in a way of an income so I thought a totally free app would be amazing. Yet when I downloaded the app it’s mentioned a subscription instantly deleted it.
Best Weaning Resource I’ve come across
This app has been extremely helpful since we started introducing solids to our daughter. There’s so much information and so many foods can be looked up for allergy, choking hazard and nutritional info. Their website and Instagram is also wonderful. I literally recommend Solid Starts to every mom I meet.

The most incredible tool for introducing solids to my baby- this app gave me the confidence to go ahead with baby-led weaning. An absolute must for all parents.

I would be absolutely lost without this, it’s given me so much confidence to feed a variety of foods to my baby and the fact that the database is free is amazing. So much useful info on their Instagram page too, give them a follow if you don’t already! Thank you solid starts!
