I love this app, there’s so many great, useful features like the way it shows you how to serve each food for babies of different ages. The app also guides you on how to introduce the main allergens, so I can have peace of mind when weaning my youngest as my older girl is allergic to so many things. Plus articles on how to keep baby safe during meals, how to cook and store food, recipes etc. I highly recommend the Solid Starts app.
Missing lots of different foods and spices- it's all a little too American. Doesn't work since I've been abroad.
I thought weaning is just serving purees but when I came across this app, it made my baby’s weaning journey easier as a start. It gave me the confidence how to serve other foods to baby and how to safely prepare each and the importance of introducing allergens early on. Also, their website has very useful blogs on how to start weaning. Baby is just 9 mos old but has been to exposed to variety! We didn’t start with puree, we even jumped to mashed foods right away and this helped baby eat independently (most times)
Why on earth is this app so expensive. All this information will be online for free somewhere it’s a shame they want to exploit mothers for just a basic app.

Very disappointed to discover now you are capped at 5 searches a day all of a sudden? This app is endorsed by the NHS so feels exploitative really. Surely they must realise the vast majority of their uses will be on maternity leave and times are tough without having to pay to see how to safely feed their baby. Shame on you Solid Starts.
Unfortunately they have now decided to charge for the free database and the cost of the subscription is too expensive for the average family to afford. This change was without warning for customers
Was really enjoying this app until the updated it and required you to pay to look up foods. This used to be completely free, but now they limit the amount of foods you can search before you are required to pay. What a huge disappointment. The mums group I am in are all moving to a new app that doesn’t require payment to look up foods.
I used this with my first baby and loved it. I paid £8.99 for a year to be able to keep track of all the foods she had tried. Now everything is behind a paywall including the food database which always used to be free. £99 for a year seems excessive and I can’t afford to pay that on maternity leave.
Even the basic food database is behind a paywall. The reason it got popular and now with the paywall it’s going to be dead. Lots of parents in our parents community are deleting the app and going to other resources.
