Brutal app! It’a been 2 months waiting for Sonos to fix the app so I can connect my new Era 100s and Beam Gen 2’s again. App has made my hardware effectively useless. Silence from Sonos has been defending to the point of gaslighting, with no acknowledgement that the new app has been an abysmal failure and made hardware useless.
Unfortunately the new app has rendered our system virtually useless with a spinning wheel of no music at every turn !
The ui is just confusing and messy. Very difficult to get it connect and play music….the one thing it’s for.

The new app does not work as well. Tons of connectivity issues, more UI drawers than I know what to do with. It’s just brutal.
Very disappointed in Sonos right now. The S2 app is so unstable that it now makes my very large investment useless. Should have never migrated from S1. New features will be useless to me if the platform will not allow me to use my system for more then 10min intervals when it’s a good day.
The update to this app seemed to erase my history of recent played track lists, and the volume control is now very glitchy - you have to click on the volume control twice, once to open it up, and again to adjust it. Still good overall, but not as slick as the older version.
I specifically waited for two months before updating the Sonos app because I have heard bad reviews about the new version - a complete redesign announced back in March. The interface is very slow, feels like the app isn’t optimized well enough. Because of that alone it’s much, much better experience to play music using Apple Music app and AirPlay from there. What makes matters worse is that the app currently doesn’t play music at all. I can’t get it to work. I select the song and the player keeps loading. Great times. You get one star for ruining your own app. Ironically, there was not a single customer who asked you to redesign interface or anything like that. People seemed to enjoy it for what it was. I know I did.
Nothing wants to connect or play sound.. It’ll say the music is playing on the device, but no sound comes out. You can only listen to Sonia radio with glitches, but if you try Apple Music and Spotify, it’s going to skip and then cut in and out of sound.
Thousands on dollars spent on fine speakers only to have the app render them un-useable. Literally cannot use the speakers I spent good money on. This company should be ashamed.
