Sony Reviews

Few Features and Not Reliable

rondfranks on

Hearing aid status quit making sounds. Not as good as Silk hearing aids app, even though the device appears to be the same.

Great hearing aids, awful app

tommasz on

United States

The app occasionally glitches, restarting usually means having to configure the hearing aids all over again. The battery level beeps don’t always work for some reason. You’re never sure if the volume/tone controls do anything. For $1k devices, there’s an expectation that the software should be pretty good, not just barely adequate. Sony, you need to do better. A year later and it’s still buggy.

Garbage

I have to repair the aids every time I want to use it and it still does t work.

Hearing Control App Needs Improvement

Owyhee1 on

United States

Sony CRE-C20 hearing aids are nice high quality devices but the app needs improvement. The app apparently chooses one of 6 pre-defined profiles for the left and right HA based on the results of the hearing test in each ear. The app then provides adjustments for sound balance, volume and tone. There is no way to know which profile has been selected for each ear or to adjust the applied profile to improve speech understanding in noisy environments. I would suggest incorporating the ability to apply speech understanding adjustments to the HA’s by the user once they have been set up by the app. Speech understanding in noisy environments is probably the number 1 complaint from hard of hearing people. I’ve tried the Apple Airpod-2 hearing app and it performs much better for speech, conversation and television with airpods than the Sony app with my CRE-C20’s.

Battery life

Right ear will not hold charge. Always dying after an hour or so. Also the volume on iPhone app will not work. Can’t turn down when in a loud environment-really hard on ears. Not recommending Sony hearing aids

Great aids, terrible app

JeanBru on

United States

This app works fine in setting up the aids but each time I go back to the app it dumps me out. When I restart the app, it insists that I set up the aids all over again in spite of the fact that I sign in with my account. So far, I haven’t found a way around this. For Pete’s sake, fix this

Hearing aids are good, app is terrible!

Like the hearing aids, but controlling them through the app is a nightmare. They won’t stay connected to my phone. Reconnection is hit or miss. Volume testing is difficult at best.

Will not open when downloaded

Downloaded to iPad, won’t download to iPhone. Functions are useless without phone.

intensely frustrating

METAADMIN on

every time there is an update it forces you to log onto sony anew and then set up the hearing aids as if they are new. really frustrating when you just wanted adjust the volume quickly

Update broke it

Bremencole on

United States

I have had my C-10s for over a year and a half, and all was good. After the last update I now have to setup the aids every time I want to use the app. Including the hearing test. This of course makes the app useless.
