But what if that's the only way to save the kingdom? "Sorcery Is for Saps" is a 200,000-word interactive fantasy novel by Hilari Bell and Anna-Maria Crum, where your choices control the story. It's entirely text-based—without graphics or sound effects—and fueled by the vast, unstoppable power of your imagination. Will your powers save the cursed king--or will you turn traitor and seize the throne yourself? You can probably break a simple kindness curse, but there are dark forces at work and you may be in over your head before you can say “Abracadabra.” Throw in your lot with scheming councilors, the attractive heir, or even go to work for the invaders. But whether you choose to save the king or your own neck, one thing is clear—this is your big chance! ‪Magic, power, or true love—which will you choose? In "Sorcery Is for Saps," you'll find it's easier than waving a wand. • ‪Be a hero or turn traitor, seduced by a sexy spy. • ‪Play as male or female, gay, straight, or bi. • ‪Steal a rival wizard's inventions. • ‪Fight the maniacal, mechanical, magical monkey. • Power up for politics, succeed at sorcery, or just get really, really rich. • ‪Trade barbs with your snarky familiar. Or will you kow-tow to a sarcastic ferret? • End up as a sorcerer, a royal councilor, a villain, or a mouse. (Literally. You can be turned into a mouse.) ## Sorcery Is for Saps Screenshots - [Screenshot 1](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple116/v4/74/3a/ce/743aceb3-ddc6-4d2e-c568-1d444c006a08/a5c59b0f-937b-421a-93ae-2a36f6cea06c_65splash.png/1242x2688.png) - [Screenshot 2](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple116/v4/20/d8/cf/20d8cf1b-b7bd-a5cc-b593-9175fe746483/321a8161-f1df-4db5-87ea-47a6aa88a787_11pro_max-1.png/1242x2688.png) - [Screenshot 3](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple126/v4/ae/3b/8b/ae3b8be7-fd02-d7c9-60e0-15a201cadcb8/d961e44d-a0a4-4ca8-ab4f-5a00705c80f8_11pro_max-2.png/1242x2688.png) - [Screenshot 4](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple116/v4/b3/ef/3e/b3ef3eeb-f191-deb6-a3e1-af30340f4e0c/974037de-154c-4a1a-a256-f1ec94f12fdb_11pro_max-3.png/1242x2688.png) - [Screenshot 5](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple126/v4/f3/d1/dd/f3d1ddae-0f5a-25ba-7b8a-03e5708fcd94/1c69c0b3-64df-4e3d-8d9c-1b7525e36988_11pro_max-4.png/1242x2688.png) - [Screenshot 6](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple116/v4/1d/5d/40/1d5d402e-77f0-bb29-3b06-c560d533f06a/b850818c-cb40-4c2b-a6c8-a7416b0bbbd5_11pro_max-5.png/1242x2688.png) - [Screenshot 7](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple126/v4/d6/9a/86/d69a863e-9674-3767-c427-511a3385b82b/8db68562-3775-4835-a3fe-f1c559408c4d_11pro_max-6.png/1242x2688.png) - [Screenshot 8](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple116/v4/9a/ec/e0/9aece061-c19c-4702-b255-64fa5daaebd0/32bb4990-2902-4799-801b-94a7177c4ea1_11pro_max-7.png/1242x2688.png) - [Screenshot 9](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple126/v4/23/e3/da/23e3da28-0b17-db52-cb88-eac1406a6b1c/d0a7e513-1d59-4d30-81c2-e15723421ae1_11pro_max-8.png/1242x2688.png) ## Sorcery Is for Saps Rating Breakdown in United States - 5 stars: 16 (80%) - 4 stars: 1 (5%) - 3 stars: 1 (5%) - 2 stars: 0 (0%) - 1 stars: 2 (10%) ## Sorcery Is for Saps Reviews in United States ### ***** "5 stars" I haven’t bought the full game yet because I’m broke rn but the story so far is very good I like how you can choose different options and get different outcomes and like whoever 10/10 would recommend -- JJRandomGamer, 2023-05-09 ### *---- "Terrible" Actions have no consequences, failure is impossible, and the writing is painful. No matter what you do, you’re really just pressing ‘next’ -- Tarod6754, 2019-02-20 ### ***** "Loved it" I thought this game was very fun, but a little pricey. $6 is a lot, and Choice of Games should lower the price. But if you love fantasy, the money is definitely worth it. The story line is incredibly enjoyable, and I’m actually playing it for the 5th time and still getting different results. One thing I didn’t like (this will be a spoiler so don’t read on if you haven’t finished the game) was that you couldn’t have a romantic relationship with Lyle/Lily. In the end, he/she always refuses you. I really liked Lyle/Lily and I wish you could end up with her/him. I wish you could end up with Camille too. It’d be cool to see what happened if you chose the “dark one” in the love square. As much as I’m criticizing this game, I did love it and I will recommend it to my friends. -- TheSuperhumanSlytherin, 2018-10-21 ### ***** "Really fun, awesome story" Even if you’re not into sorcery or stories like that, this app makes it fun and interesting. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a great story to fill your time with. -- MjWood25, 2018-03-21 ### ***-- "Good not best COG" Really enjoyed the tone (myth inc. or princess bride tongue and cheek). However, was more on rails (or at least the rails were more visible) than my favorite COG titles. Second play through felt very similar to first despite trying to make different decisions -- Opinionsarelike......, 2017-12-02 ### ***** "Oh My Goodness" I started playing through this in my free time, but I was quickly sucked in. This is a marvelous read! -- xTurtlePushupsx, 2017-11-21 ### ***** "D to the E to the L I C I O U S" WHY is the ferret named fergie i cant stop singing fergalicious send help -- imjustdoingthisforafreetrial, 2017-04-16 ### ***-- "Good Writing, but could be better" Mostly I'm just having trouble with the part where you first try to solve the king's problem after the Court Wizard's failed to do so for days and if you choose to scry *your spell actually works* but then the king moves and disrupts it and the game ends up describing it as "your huge failure" and just hammers that in. It was annoying the first time (especially since it was, IMO, a huge success given the *Court Wizard* wasn't able to get *anywhere*), but after the fifth or so time bringing it up and saying how "you're so humiliated to have failed in front of everyone" it started making the story feel fake, which totally destroyed the immersion and my suspension of disbelief. I haven't read that far, so I don't have much else to say, but I just wanted to add in this opinion. Edit 1: Story falls into standard trap of giving you a large harem of "absolutely stunningly beautiful" women to choose from who also happen to be super smart blah blah blah. I'd appreciate it if one were ugly or dumb for once or at least have a rounder character, or if the author would put less focus into sexualizing the story. -- Nicknamermanguything, 2017-03-18 ### ****- "Very Good" Good writing and grammar. Like the alchemy/spell details a lot. Love the familiar. As always, could have been longer but I always say that ! -- Cvb177NoThanks, 2017-02-10 ### ***** "Epic Favorite Game <3" I played a male Magic-person who got to marry the handsome prince, do some awesome magic, argue with a witty ferret and save the kingdom. I'm happy as can be. Highly recommend. :) -- RainbowChihuahua, 2017-01-18 [View all Sorcery Is for Saps reviews and detailed analytics on AppTail](https://app.apptail.io/signup?utm_campaign=ai-crawl&utm_content=reviews) ## Sorcery Is for Saps In-App Purchases | Item | Price | |------|-------| | Rest of the Game | $5.99 | ## Sorcery Is for Saps Available In -
