Soro Reviews

Superb little app

Absolutely superb app that finally makes it easy to build shortcuts for multi-step Sonos workflows. Brilliant!

Life saver

To the developer/s, thank you for building this app. I can’t believe Sonos doesn’t provide iOS Shortcuts. Even if they did, it probably wouldn’t be as rich as this. I like to listen to podcasts on the Sonos but find the default EQ setting too muddy. Without a shortcut, I would have to deep dive into the Sonos app to get to the EQ. Soro however allowed me to create a “Podcast preset” and a “Music preset”. I’m also using it to reset the volume of all my Sonos devices to 15% every evening. I find that even at 30% volume, the Alexa response is way too loud in a quiet household. Thank you Soro!

It quite an app as you would expect…

This is a shortcuts widget, not an app. It’s an excellent shortcuts widget, as in it creates all the shortcuts you need for your Sonos system. However, the reason I got this is because Sonos messed up their app (speed is so slow). What I found was that this app (shortcuts) failed to work on many occasions and it seems the issue isn’t an app issue, but a speaker response issue. Although this isn’t this apps (shortcuts) fault, it did fail to work on many occasions for me. Nice idea, but needs a main controller app to accompany the shortcuts.

If you use a VPN, beware

So, the idea is great, but my automation doesn’t work if VPN is connected. Disconnect VPN, et Voila! Far from ideal. Real shame, because if it weren’t for my VPN issue, it’s a 5 star.

S2?

Only ever picks up my S1 speakers. Have not been able to get this to connect to my S2 devices (the majority of my system) at all?

Just brilliant

Been looking for a way to stream music from my Sonos AMP without using the S2 app ( which is woeful ). This allows me to use Marvis Pro as a front end to my music and kick off playback on the Sonos ! Worth every penny !

Excellent!

I love my Sonos system, but the one thing I wanted was a one-click solution that would group all of my speakers, set an appropriate volume for the morning and the play my favourite radio station all over the house. Within ten minutes of installing the Soro app I had configured a shortcut that does exactly that, and it’s perfect. Shortcuts on iOS can be a little confusing, but that isn’t the fault of Soro. It simply provides the hooks into the Sonos system that you can use to build your custom shortcuts. Overall, it’s a really great solution to managing regular Sonos routines. Highly recommended.

Using on watch seems glitchy

Capdoc on

United Kingdom

Works great on iPhone but using on watch seems glitchy with need to press shortcuts more than once to bring up speaker selection when performing action eg next/previous or play/pause - be great to fix this as well as improve general speediness of response - especially on the watch!

Makes life so much easier

In the absence of any official Sonos shortcuts or widgets, this app saves so much time and makes life so much easier! Definitely worth the money if you constantly find yourself using the S2 app to group/ungroup, change various settings, change inputs or play music, etc.

Just great for controlling Sonos

Ken Griffiths on

I’m a novice when it comes to creating/using iOS shortcuts and the Soro App makes controlling Sonos products really simple. I was well impressed with the work that must have gone into creating the links to the various aspects of the Sonos API - it’s actually fun to use the features and to create iOS shortcuts, which can be triggered by time, location, icons and Siri commands etc. This is one of the best Apps I have purchased from the App Store in recent years and well worth every penny paid.
