Apple’s built-in calculator is very mediocre. Initially I grabbed this for macOS and loved it so much I bought it for mobile too. Soulver has so little friction compared to anything else that I use it far more than anticipated. Pop open a sheet, plug in some values and units. Bam. You’re done. Have a coffee recipe and want an easy way to do ratios? Soulver. Deal with multiple timezones at work? Display them all with Soulver. Do you love Japanese goods? Calculating your wages, splitting a bill, itemizing your subscriptions and seeing how the total would change if you remove certain ones, etc. This app is amazing for all those things and more. Trust me: even if you’re not a math bro, and even if you’re a mathematical “regard” like me, you will 100% find good use for this app. I’ve been using Soulver for god knows how long. I think it’s been well over a decade. I rarely have ZERO complaints about a product, but it’s quite true in this case. Loved Soulver 2, love Soulver 3. IF I had any nitpick, I’d probably say that I liked the general feel of the keyboard more in Soulver 2. And just by a tiny margin. Their 14 day trial period of all features is very generous, and WE SHOULD ALL DO OUR BEST TO SUPPORT DEVELOPERS WHO SELL THEIR APP FOR A ONE-TIME FEE! I’m so tired of subscriptions. This app is a one time fee ($14 may seem steep for an app, but if you download as many apps as I do, you’re well aware that that’s nothing. Most apps will end up costing you that much within two months). The AI query feature does cost about $26/year, but that’s because every time the app queries GPT, the developer has to pay for that query. So I think it’s more than fair. I pay $20/MONTH for ChatGPT.
