SourFriend is a sourdough app that plans your feeds and estimates peaks around when you'll use your starter, so keeping one is easier.

Claim free Pro through December 31, 2026. Weekly chat limits apply.

● Pick when you'll use your starter

- Say Saturday at 2pm. SourFriend works backward to suggest feeding times for your bake.
- 1:1:1 or 1:5:5 — you set the ratio. Kitchen temp goes in the log too.
- Enable reminders to hear when it's time to feed. Your day no longer bends around the starter.
- Peak timing is an estimate and varies with your starter and conditions.

● Follow a plan when you're not sure what to do

- Making a starter from scratch? A step-by-step plan tells you what comes next.
- Each step comes with its order and timing, so you're not searching for the method every time.
- Guided starter plans and backward scheduling are part of Pro.

● Log a feed in a few taps

- Time, flour, ratio, kitchen temp — a few taps and it's saved.
- No long notes. Just the details that matter.
- Plan reminders follow your feeding schedule.

● The more you log, the better you know your starter

- Learnings brings together patterns from your own feeding records.
- On a day the bread didn't rise, look back at the log and find what was different.

● Check its condition at a glance

- See fermentation grades and explanations in your feeding results.
- Record how much it rose at its peak and look back at earlier feedings.
- Use Peak Time Predictor to explore timing for your next feed.

● Ask your starter (Beta)

- Why isn't it rising? Is this smell okay? Can I use it today? Ask.
- Answers can draw on your saved feeding records. AI can make mistakes.
- Basic includes 5 messages a week. Claimed launch Pro includes 20 through December 2026.
- Device Pro includes 15 a week, or 20 during a claimed launch offer. From January 2027, paid Pro includes 30, or 45 for device owners.

● Pair the device and logging gets easier

- Connect a compatible SourFriend device to sync temperature, humidity and rise readings where supported.
- Bring supported device readings into your history instead of typing each one.
- No device? Log feedings and observed peaks by hand.

● Start with Basic. Move to Pro when you need it.

- Logging, history, the calendar and reminders are free.
- Backward scheduling, guided starter plans and Learnings are part of Pro.
- Claim the launch offer for free Pro through December 31, 2026. No card is needed, and it does not automatically become a paid subscription.
- Eligible SourFriend device owners receive Pro without a subscription, with the chat limits above.

Monthly and yearly Pro subscriptions are available when offered in the app. Prices and any trial terms appear before purchase. Paid subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled before renewal. Manage them in your Apple account settings.

● Permissions, when you need them

- Notifications: feeding and schedule reminders.
- Camera and photos: add photos to your starter, chat or letters, and save images.
- Bluetooth: connect a SourFriend device.
- Location while using the app: read the current Wi-Fi network name during device setup. Your location is not stored.
- You can use the app without granting these optional permissions; the corresponding features may be unavailable.
