South China Morning Post: News Reviews

Getting worse & worse

Hk Labor on

Hong Kong SAR China

the articles are full of meaningless information and sentences, just to make them look longer, wasting time to filter

Good but has anti Chinese bias sometimes

K197263 on

Hong Kong SAR China

A lot of the articles written by Jeoffrey Maitem and Maria Siow have a strongly pro Filipino and anti Chinese bias. This is a very odd editorial choice.

Copied and pasted the other one star as it perfectly summarises the issue with this app

raphipik99 on

Hong Kong SAR China

The SCMP has become a tool for censorship and a platform for pro-Beijing trollers to post misinformation, disinformation, deceitful and disrespectful comments about Hong Kongers, democracy and other democratic nations (90% WolfWarriors). Opinions by SCMP columnists have frequently posted biased reports that promotes hate on Hong Kongers and democratic countries. Disrespectful, deceitful, misinformation and disinformation postings in the comment sections by Pro-Beijing Communist trollers often get ignored, despite their comments being reported. However, reviewers who have retaliated against the offensive posts by CCP trollers often get deleted and censored. This is the very definition of double standards. The SCMP has now become far from independent or impartial. I'm about to delete and discontinue use of this newspaper app. You have been warned about this biased media outlet.

Ads even for paid edition

a_user_of_between on

Hong Kong SAR China

I hate opening this app. Every time I’m greeted with a 5 second ad - if I’m on free then that’s fine but this is hardly acceptable on a paid edition.

Way too many ads

violin on on

Hong Kong SAR China

I'd rather pay a little more in my subscription than use an app with full screen ads on timers. It's unusable for me and I will use my web browser instead.

Bothersome

Abaraka13 on

Hong Kong SAR China

I pay for my subscription, but why do I still get ads that stop me from reading immediately?

i can not split screen

中女fd on

Hong Kong SAR China

i want to write down the vocabulary on the other apps , but scmp apps does not have split screen function in iPad. Then , I mush pop-up the apps. It is not user friendly

Biased news.

Ggg chcufufucjcicj on

Hong Kong SAR China

Previously a paid subscriber to SCMP. Recently cancelled the subscription mainly due to all my criticle comments being deleted, how dare we post criticle comments. One of the most untrustworthy news outlets on the market. Another reason was the pop up advertisement when opening the app. I don’t expect to see this when I pay for a service.

Forced update of app in the middle of using the app

bruce88bb on

Hong Kong SAR China

The app along with many apps in hk forced you update the app before you can continue using it. Todays experience takes it to another level, one moment I was using the all reading news and shortly after I click on a notification link, I couldn’t continue unless I go to update the app. My SCMP app wasn’t even closed yet , this happens to kmb app, mtr mobile app also.

The forced pop up ads are unacceptable

Pixelpacks on

Hong Kong SAR China

We are paying a monthly subscription, but still forced to view full-screen ads that have a timer before you can close them. I’ve never seen this on any paid platform before.
