SpaceEars - ear training game

Ear-training packed in a space-themed game? It's possible! 2024 - what a time to be alive! I rate it M10/M10 First of all, the retro graphics are totally convincing and a certain charm comes out of your device while shifting through the game's menu. To continue, level designs are kept simple, yet unique. The stage bosses are designed in a unique way which makes you wanna see the next one. In-game items? There's a variety of them with blasting effects! Also the visual effects are a neat highlight. Now to the core of this game: EAR TRAINING. While your ship is floating around in space shooting enemies, what you can hear is intervals. Ascending, descending and harmonically. Choosing one path will reveal the typ of task. The player's surface to click the played interval is simple and effective. So is the player's way to get a better ear. Totally worth the money for aspiring space ear pilots, I would highly recommend this game! Can't wait for new games or updates.

I like the game. With it, I practice intervals longer than I do in other apps. I think it works better as a tool to reinforce and refine your ability to identify intervals than as a tool to learn them from scratch. To learn from scratch it’s best to be able to take all the time you need to sing each tone and then if you still need help, to walk up or down a scale from one given tone to the other until either you land on it or you hear that it’s a half-step off the scale, or to leap from one given tone up a familiar interval then hear the small adjustment from there to the other tone, or to resolve the second tone to a nearby familiar tone. This game doesn’t give you much time to do that, so you occasionally guess wrong, and there’s nothing learned from a wrong guess. However, it’s a great tool to reinforce and refine your knowledge that you learned elsewhere. For example, if you’re always needing to sing each tone before identifying the interval, this game will kick you in the butt to get you away from that and toward trusting your initial judgment of the quality of the interval. That’s an important step! It’s also a good test of where you are with certain intervals. The player statistics and AI coach are useful.

This app is so cool! At first I was confused which sounds you were supposed to listen to in game, so maybe playing a chord with just the sound your supposed to listen to without the background music at the start of a round would help. All in all great game and keep up the great work!

Great visuals, soundtrack is banging, and the gameplay is fun.

Excited to see how this game will enhance my interval/ear training. The best thing about this app is that it doesn't feel like training at all. It’s a fun way to pass time and work on your skills simultaneously. Bonus; some of the tracks in the background are really nice too.
