I saw this app recommended by a photographer. I tried it, and I have never seen such obnoxious and persistent ads, none of which pertain to me. They fill the whole screen and play for a long time. Even when they stop running most of the time they don’t close and it is hard to find a way to get them off the screen and see the app. If they have a visible x on screen when I press it the App Store opens to the advertised app. From what I can see of the app you put a lot of work into it and the graphics are great. However, the ads seem designed to force you to buy a subscription in order to use it and not be frustrated. This is so coercive I will not buy it. I set up the alerts. I will read them on my watch but I will not pay for this product just because you made it obnoxious in the free version. I saw a post that said you have no control over the ads. Yet every other app I use in the free version has tolerable levels of advertising material.
Must of added game app trailers that force you to watch for 30 seconds then you can check on features of the app, STOP IT
I live in Utah so I rarely see the Aurora Borealis so this app lets me know when there is a KP-7 or a X1 so I know if there is a chance
I am a ham radio operator I have monitored space weather since early 1970’s. I have another app that monitors this but in terms of information Space Weather Live absolutely rules. The screen on my iPad is informative and easy to understand. This app is a no brainer for anyone interested in what the sun is doing.
Would be a good app, but tries to force you to download games, to remove the very annoying ads. In fact, if you accidentally touch an ad, it takes you into full screen game ad, with no option to get ready rid of ad, except to leave the app. This has been added, recently, so am removing the app, now. It’s cheap and cheesy.
The app has good stuff but the ads basically make it unusable. Just trying to check the data makes me want to smash my phone and never use this app again.
Remove this app from my phone.
The news and warnings about the geomagnetic storm aren’t showing up in NEWS at all. I was about to do the monthly 99 cents to support the app, but there’s no point if it no longer keeps me current on the news:(
This is my favorite space weather app but the recent update made to how the ads display has completely destroyed it. Now, when trying to navigate to a different page, an ad covers the entire screen and cannot be exited. One is forced to watch an ad of a minute or longer just to navigate to a new screen. I am keeping the app installed for the alerts but I've had to shift back to the browser-based site to use it. The browser version has ads as well but they are placed in a way that makes it still possible to navigate the site. I understand that ads are necessary. I hope this app developer can come up with a solution that accommodates the ads while still allowing users to move around the site.
