I’ve spent over a year and a half grinding in Spades by Pokerist, consistently playing at the 50k-100k bid tables. Over that time, I worked my way up to a respectable 375 million coins. That is, until this app’s greed-driven, scammy mechanics started making me regret every minute spent on it. If I could give zero stars, I would.

Here’s how it works: once you hit certain milestones, the developers pull some shady tricks to trick you into losing your hard-earned coins. First, once you’ve crossed the 100 million mark, the game redesigns the Home Screen, making it nearly impossible not to accidentally click the wrong tables, where you can lose your coins in seconds. As if that wasn’t enough, after hitting 200 million, they change the screen layout again—basically forcing you to lose coins even faster. And once you hit 300 million? Surprise! Another Home Screen overhaul. It’s almost as if they’re actively trying to make sure you’re either losing coins or tempted to buy more.

It’s glaringly obvious that this game’s entire business model revolves around tricking players into spending real money just to stay afloat. They don’t care about player satisfaction, just about funneling cash into their pockets. The customer service? Don’t bother. They’re unprofessional, unhelpful, and frankly, seem to be as interested in resolving your issues as a brick wall is in helping you build a house.

If you want a game that’s nothing more than a glorified slot machine, go ahead and waste your time here. But don’t say you weren’t warned—it’s a thinly veiled scam. Do yourself a favor and stay far, far away.

Why aren’t their more hairstyles for black people? The few you have, are outdated. No one really wears Afros, or braids anymore. Why aren’t there dreadlocks? I have long dreads. As Billions of black people around the world. You guys don’t have an avatar that represents me. I can’t speak for others. But, I’m sure other black players would agree. Just a suggestion. Maybe add dread locks & wicks.

The good stuff: Absolutely the best Spades GUI out there. The graphics are superb. Then you start playing the game. No! Stop! Save yourself the frustration and high blood pressure.  

You will QUICKLY discover that the game is by far one of the biggest Cash Grabs out there, hidden behind a beautiful graphic interface.

How is it a cash grab you may ask? It’s simple. You start off decent. I built myself up to 17 million in a few months of playing. Then I made the mistake of spending $2.99 on some chips. And that was all she wrote. Down, down, down. In the past couple of years  I managed to make it back up to 10 million once, but then right back to less than a million.

The bots in the game are even stupid and will do stupid things to make you lose.  I’ve played many a game of Spades, and mathematically there is no way that 8 out 10 hands will involve a Nil, 1 or 2, maybe; but not 8.

Don’t take my word, but you’ve been warned.
