Blocking texts has become easier! Configure your filters and manage Blacklists and Whitelists manually with SMS blocker for free. Create rules and clear your message list from undesired content quickly and in an intuitive interface. Also, you can apply automatic rules to protect yourself from messages containing links or coming from any short numbers or emails.

Download SpamHound to block spam, and unwanted messages will not bother you anymore. Make sure you are totally preserved from spam under the shelter of reliable spam blocker!

Primary functions:
- Create unlimited quantity of spam blocking filters
- Fine-tune filters using flexible rules
- Filter SMS and MMS using Blacklist
- Filter messages from short numbers (you can whitelist any useful ones if needed)
- Stop spam messages containing links
- Stop spam messages from email
- Use Whitelist to prevent blocking

Blacklist and Whitelist
You can create, edit and delete filtering in Blacklist and Whitelist tabs.

All unwanted messages that fly under the Blacklist rules will be stored in a separate Junk SMS tab. Whitelist messages, in their turn, will be displayed in a native Messenger app.

Filtering rules
You can literally create any rule to filter as much spam as possible - from easiest “contains’ conditions and up to regular expressions and wildcard syntax magic. You can also use predefined rules to stop spam texts from short numbers and SMS containing links. Look for tips on creating Blacklist and Whitelist rules in the FAQ section.

Security
To ensure your privacy and safety, SpamHound SMS blocker does not require access to the content of your messages.

Backups
Link the app to one of your social accounts to backup the rules and use them on other devices to block text messages.

## SpamHound SMS Spam Filter Reviews in United States

### ****- "Doesn’t work"
I have blacklist rules, and when I check them against spam texts that I check, SpamHound agrees that they’re spam - they match my rules. But the spam texts don’t get filtered. It just doesn’t work. And yes, I do have SpamHound set to filter my messages. If disappointment.
-- andrex593, 2024-11-20

### *---- "user experience is poor"
It is difficult to tell when you are editing/reviewing the excluded list vs the allowed list. Also difficult to find messages that were filtered. There should be a page that shows all blocked messages.
-- tvvtvvf, 2024-11-07

### ***** "Awesome"
Solved my election spam problem entirely. Takes a little setup when you first download, but we'll worth it. Check the FAQ for the developers filter advice, and set up the all the rules under the "blacklisting usage hints" to start. Customizd further from there. Personally, I added a rule for elections for the words vote, voting, running, election, ballot, or attorney General. Customize to your hearts content. My favorite feature is to block imessages from email address entirely. I have never gotten a message from an email that WASN'T spam, and from what I can tell apple doesn't let you turn them off. Again, this app is well worth the setup.
-- Sl0ccy, 2024-11-05

### *---- "does not work"
Still get messages with words that are to be blocked.
-- NCK03&$, 2024-11-04

### *---- "Does not work"
Useless
-- Jemba05, 2024-11-03

### ***** "End of Political Spam Texts"
I was at my wits end. I googled for answers on how to stop unwanted text messages. I tried setting up my iPhone 13 with the Apple info to no avail. Then I went to my service provider and they couldn’t do anything. I finally decided to give Spam Hound a try and downloaded it from the Apple Store. SUCCESS! This app saved my sanity. I was receiving hundreds of spam texts a week! Once I downloaded and installed Spam Hound, 100% of all those ridiculous spam texts ended! Peace at last! Thank you Spam Hound.
-- Michael Gilding, 2024-10-28

### *---- "Doesn’t do anything"
Does not stop spam texts even though I have it set up to block links, etc. I still receive spam texts with links
-- bxouture, 2024-10-09

### *---- "Does not move SPAM messages to Junk folder"
Not compatible with iOS 18. I created and validated rules, but the messages never get blocked/moved to the junk folder.

Also, the filtering rules are confusing. It’s not clear what the difference is between. Contains, Equals, regular expression, and wild card. Regular expression was the only one that seemed to validate in the messages I tested.
-- KarlTonDance, 2024-10-02

### ***** "Can finally block sexy messages sent from an email"
Somehow I have been getting continuously spammed from “sex” emails. These are being sent to groups of 20 recipients. No matter how I try to block them, they keep coming back. This app has finally freed me from these offensive messages. If you think you are immune because you are careful what you click- you are not! I am a female senior citizen. This app has saved me much embarrassment and hassle, and has spared me from concern that I might accidentally open one of these when trying to delete.
-- carsonrico, 2024-09-27

### *---- "Stopped working"
Worked perfectly the first two days then for no reason stopped blocking text messages. I even verified my rules should have blocked them using the “Checker” functionality.
