I just found out about this app a few weeks ago, and it’s life changing. Growing up with a brother who’s a drummer, I conditioned myself to tune him out while we practiced different music at the same time— him on the drums and myself on the piano. As a result, I tuned out the metronome as well. As both a pianist and now also a piano teacher, I’m so excited about this app! Upon running across a mention if it in a blog post, (and so many times since then!), my thought was/is, “where have you been all my life?!” Complete with the heart eyes:) 😍😍 I’m truly so grateful for what you’ve done. You all are clearly amazing. So please take this as a compliment, because it’s a reflection on how much of a genius one of my students and I think you are… We would love to see some way to add polyrhythms on SpeakBeat. (I tried to email this as feedback but it said my device wasn’t supported for that..?)
But I would second the suggestion in another comment to be able to add a click with a separate volume to mix in with the voice.
Really like this app using it with my practice in voice mode helps me count more effectively when I play without it. Helps cement the pulse. Like the different voices.
Daughter does competitive dance and competitive cheer. Before rehearsing to the music, rehearsing choreography for precision is typically done by voice count alone. However, a human is prone to rush or drag. A metronome doesn’t cut it either because, during rehearsals, movements are cued by the “count.” THIS is PERFECT! 💯
Great metronome! I use it with a lot of my students! Thanks for making it!
This app has helped me a lot with timing on the piano, however it has way too many adds. If somebody made a version of this without adds, I would totally use it. Also, the voices don’t sound realistic.
Get in sync with your group with this app!
I like it. Is there a way to have voice and click at the same time? If so, I’m not seeing it. I’d give 5 stars and pay up for that.
This is my favorite metronome app for practicing. I use about 2 hours per day and it always works flawlessly, less one quirky thing. The visual timing part of the app flashes the numbers in white and then turns to orange. Neither the white timing display nor the orange display is actually on the beat that the voice speaks. The 5 star rating drops to a 4 star rating is only because of the visual timing quirk.
