Bit long going through the validation process but I got in with it. It is a bit bizarre that the app takes you out to the browser in your phone. Then it came to payment, took my money and never returned me to the app. So I have now paid but the app things I’m still at the check out.. let’s hope someone picks up the phone tomorrow. Don’t download the app, it’s not worth 10% discount. Tried again on safari, got a bit further only for it not to process my payment. So I rang up to be told they don’t do over the phone bookings. After speaking nicely to the lazy man on the phone he eventually attempted to help telling me that there were no machines in my local area. I told him I drive nationwide every day so could pick up from anywhere. He then told me they had no available machines across the entire country. So I went on eBay found a local supplier and went and bought a brand new machine exactly the same for 2.5k in one hour. If I use this machine more than 10 times it’ll pay for its self and without all the bull. In summary, crap website, crap app, crap firm. Possibly the worst app and company sign up process I have ever experienced. It’s a shame because if it worked I’m sure it’d be great. Guys wake up, you’re losing customers, fire the dev team and start again….please! -- BartBurn, 2021-08-24 ### **--- "Not that great even when it works" First time hiring from Speedy Hire, was advised by rep in store to sign up for an account using the app. Why I couldn’t do it there I store I have no idea has various items with me that should enable me to open the account there. Anyway on to the app. The app is so slow to load, copious amounts of errors when trying to progress anything. With the account application after faffing with camera permissions and trying to get the system to work through safari it Would not accept image of my driving license. So completed the application for online via Mac in the end. Once confirmation of account was all set up I looked to hire equipment on the app, but then the app would not recognised me being logged in. When it eventually did, I couldn’t proceed with hiring as the app wouldn’t allow me to add a payment card. So in the end I went back to doing it online via a Mac. Generally the app is just not worth the hassle. No problem with that (even though the app has no privacy policy statements…?). However, the app hands off to default browser, except doesn’t work with my default browser (chrome for iOS) so have to open phone settings and revert to safari. Then, despite multiple attempts, app can’t recognise my Driving licence (other apps have no problem). So I select “upload photo instead”. Get a screen with the speedy logo, and a button saying “restart”. Hitting restart takes me back to the camera.
