Sphero Edu is your hub to create, contribute, and learn with Sphero robots. Go beyond code by incorporating unique STEAM lessons to complete with your bot.
 
Designed for learner progression, Sphero Edu beginners can give robots commands by drawing a path in the app for their robot to follow. Intermediate coders can use Scratch blocks to learn more advanced logic, while pros can use text programming and write their own JavaScript or Python code. 
 
Sphero Edu is built for makers, learners, educators, and parents. The interactive platform allows you to keep track of your class or group from one easy place. Anyone can save their progress, jump from device to device, and continue the discovery from anywhere. Preparing for the future has never been so fun.
 
SPHERO EDU FEATURES

PROGRAMS: Program your bots in 3 ways with Draw, Block, and Text modes. Start with the basics and grow. 

SENSOR DATA: See location, accelerometer, gyroscope, velocity, and distance sensor data through visual graphs.

LESSONS: Program a painting. Navigate a maze. Mimic the solar system. The only limit is your imagination.

TAKE A DRIVE: Need a brain break? Set LED colors on your robot and zoom around in Drive mode. 

ASSIGNMENTS: Are you a teacher? Monitor progress by creating lessons and assigning them to your students.

INTEGRATIONS: Simplify classroom use by signing in and syncing classrooms with Google and Clever accounts.

Even though kept updated, when trying to run it under IOS 18.3, it would not open, crashing. Reinstalling fixed it.

I have a Darkside Ollie and used to have fun with it in the app named “Ollie”. In that app we had many features to spin, jump, do some 360’s and many more.
But I’m really disappointed by how they removed that app and forced us to use Sphero Edu that is of no use for robots like the Droids, Ollie’s, McQueen and etc.
In this app we can only barely move and change the light settings.
Not every child wants to sit and code their robots every time.

I haven’t used my Ollie since the time they have removed the app (it’s almost been like 2 years or something), I just plugged it on and thought of using it.
But guess what? The battery didn’t even last 5 min 🤷
Please bring back those apps where people can take full advantage of their robots

### ****- "Bad range but nice coding"
I’ve had a Sphero rvr+ for 2 years I love it and the coding is super nice but the range on the rvr+ is not that great for a car that can do lots of things like all terain driving. The introduction Video says it is the go anywhere do anything robot but for the range it is not good. Also my son is ready for text coding but there are no lessons on that. It says bolt is compatible with the text lessons but my rvr+ is not

Ok sorry for the review title cliché but it was all I could think of but enough banter what’s wrong with it well one thing the fact that you can’t even program the force and for bb-8 I have been searching in my storage room for years and I finally find it I am ecstatic and rush to download the app hours later I am sitting there and nothing I soon learn it has been discontinued hmm well this app looks like it would maybe work and it did but I wanted to use the force band so I keep looking and looking then I give up and try to brute force my way in and try to code it and you can’t even control what you create without more code now he just he just says things noise the robotic voice but it doesn’t even sound anything like what bb-8 sounds like or even close so if you were here to use bb-8 and your forceband then maybe try somewhere else or something I don’t know apparently it’s “illegal to download if not downloaded already” so yea I don’t have an answer but it’s still fun just annoying to hear “bwaaaabump you need to download the application first” over and over but give me your opinion and mine might change but as it stands I will not use it as much unless I find a way to at least have a reaction from the droid that’ll you for your time.

I can’t understand how a company would leave so many people unsupported after spending hundreds of dollars on their products.. This app does work for the Star Wars bots but not as they were initially intended and it’s kind of a joke.. The Star Wars line is pretty much useless since they removed the original App.. How about a paid version of the original App ?

Sphero is a garbage, scam company. Have 3 droids (BB-8, R2-D2 and BB-9E) and Lightning McQueen that no longer work because of this company just deciding to no longer make usable apps for them. Literally close to $1000 in items bought from this company that less than 10 years (5 in the case of Lightning McQueen) that just basically no longer usable.

Go preach your education and building for the future somewhere else because the only thing you’ve educated me on is you only care about the money not the product.

Unfortunately I can’t give ZERO stars because that’s what you would get.

I purchased the R2D2 droid from this company and it worked great and was fun to show off. Now I can’t use my R2D2 because the app for it was removed. This app however still has “basic controls” which is SMALL fraction of what the old app used to do! If Sphero could add additional controls, I would be HAPPY to change my review, until then 1 star!
