iPad issues

No instructions on using an iPad Pro 12.9 to fill the whole screen. As long as this app has been out that issue should have been corrected by now.

I have been using Splashtop for several years and its my goto app to accessing my Mac mini and Windows computer. Thinking of buying a MacBook Air/pro…dont bother . Use an old laptop and remote in…you will have the power of a brand new computer in your hands

Amazing.

This app does exactly what I was hoping- I have a MacBook Pro in my bedroom hooked up to a monitor that I love but try not to move it around too much (have a 12.9 iPad that is generally more portable) but I love macOS and prefer using it whenever I can. This app allows me to use my iPad Pro and Magic Keyboard and have macOS accessible- and if you have the upgraded subscription you don’t even have to be on the same network. I’m able to remote into the MacBook from 2000 miles away with limited lag. Couldn’t recommend more. The connection is stable and you can leave the app (like I am currently typing this in the App Store on iPad) and hop back in when you are done without having to login or refresh. It doesn’t reload in the background (unlike many other remote apps with the Xbox remote play as an example) and you can continue your work flow.

Apple Pencil support requires paid “business” app.

It streams my PC to my iPad, yes. But without Apple Pencil support, there is 0 practical use for this app. Chrome Remote Desktop is just as useless but for free.

Stay Away—Far Away

I have tried this application on two occasions when I was away from the home computer for periods of 10 weeks to 10 months. In both cases the application failed after a few days—it proved to be less reliable than free remote offerings. Tech support was terrible—they don't seem to read the emails carefully, and invariably ask you to try something you have already tried (and addressed in the initial email) or they ask you to check something on the remote computer: HOW CAN THIS BE DONE WHEN I AM USING SPLASHTOP TO ACCESS THE COMPUTER. (For the record, I tested the streamer before leaving). Even for a hobbyist, this application does not make the grade. And, to top it off, after several fruitless email, I receive an email marking the problem as “solved.” I fear the only solution is to find another application.
