TL;DR: Used to be a great app but it now sucks. Don’t bother with it. Splitwise was a fantastic app until November 2023 when with no warning, they added a 10 second delay between adding transactions then made it impossible to add more than 4 transactions in a day on the free version. This was done without notifying users and when asked their response was “We’re sorry if this comes as a surprise. We feel the best way for us to communicate changes to our product with you is right from within the app, since most people don’t appreciate or read unnecessary emails or blog posts.” Which is just rude and unnecessary.
