Avoid this app, start look for others. The limit of 3 transactions was a bad move. Everyone can calculate 3 transactions easily so this means it’s not practical using it anymore unless u pay them $
Monetising an app is one thing, but the hard (3) transaction limit operates as to cripple any use of the app - it’s a huge disincentive to ever use Splitwise.
was a good app until they started restricting the expense keying to 3 or 4 inputs per day. very poor move as it will deter people from using entirely. i rather watch advertisements to get to key expenses, but restricting by forcing people to pay for further keying expenses is just nah...
Only allow 3 transactions per day. Not the most useful.
It was great using experience until they really force you to buy Pro subscriptions, if not only 4 expense can be recorded per day. Though it’s understandable they may need more avenue to support other product’s development and operation. But maybe make Pro edition’s feature more attractive instead of limit my daily record. Hope they can do well and hope at least daily limit can be removed . It was a good app.
Functions are not bad, but pricing doesn’t match. A one off payment is more reasonable as opposed to such a high ongoing fee. The app fails to match the expectations of users and the perceived value in terms of pricing. And now it is resorting to limiting functions significantly, such as a measley 3-4 entries a day. It will be the last time I use Splitwise.
THE BEST. I dont regret paying this app. It tracks everything beautifully. Multicurrency. And it is just seamless!
have been enjoying splitwise immensely for years and am not surprised that it has made the switch to a paid model to maintain profitability, but i would love to suggest an alternative mode of payment for splitwise to consider!! my usage of splitwise is purely by occasion only, so a subscription to the app is hard to justify, and i’m sure that is the case for most as well. to combat that, if splitwise were to introduce one-time payments for creation of a group for one-off occasions i am sure many more will be willing to pay for that. for example, in a 5-day trip for 5 friends they would only need to make a single payment to access full features for that period of time. they could even split the payment on the app itself! 🤙🏼 i really do hope splitwise can implement this feature and i will be a willing and loyal user!! 🙌🏻
For years I have used this app and gotten a lot of my friends to use it too. We loved it. Until months ago when they added what can only be described as foolish short term revenue making strategies (3 expenses max in a day). In chasing after money they restricted the main essence of the app. Who only purchases 3 items a day? And at that point who needs an app like this. As someone working in revenue tech role, I can only understand this move as a short term money making scheme. It will lead to greater uptake of other equally great apps. I hope they remove this new updates asap.
Limiting so many feature.. unable to use without pro .. looks need to find another app
